My mom got me a Shiseido gift set which included the Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Cleansing Foam.  When I searched online I realized that the product was on the pricey side.  Normally I prefer some exfoliants in my face wash but it seemed like such a waste to have it sit in my drawer of unused beauty products so I decided to use it for a full week to see how it performed.  My skin type is combination, and I am prone to black heads.  I found that adding a little bit of another cleanser that had microfoliants to this product while cleansing helped.  After using this product for a week, I can say that this would be a good product for everyday use.  I had confused brightening with whitening when I first started using the product.  The brightening actually seems to be more of a evening of skin-tone effect rather than a bleaching. With the added microfoliants the cleanser was able to keep rid of my blackhead problem also.  After cleansing my skin would feel completely oil free, and slightly tight. A good moisturizer applied right after washing would be recommended for people with dry skin. Also, although this cleanser is more on the expensive side, I found that you only need a little, about the size of a pea, each time you wash.

After spending many nights up late doing homework and studying, my skin looked a little dull. I decided to give this cleanser a try, hoping to brighten it, as the name of the product promises. It may seem expensive at first, but a little goes a long way. You only need a pea-sized amount each time as it lathers up really well. It has a nice, pleasant smell that is not too overpowering. It leaves my skin feeling smooth and clean, and acne free. I only use it once a day, at night, and it does not aggravate my sensitive skin. It can be a bit drying but that's fine since I always follow with my night serum and moisturizer (of a different brand). I'm not too sure about its brightening effects because my skin looks brightened only immediately after use. I have been using this cleanser for almost a year and have yet to see any long-term "brightening" effects. Overall, this is a good, basic and gentle, daily cleanser, but don't expect any miracles.

This cleanser works very well, leaving the skin feeling clean and squeaky without the feeling of dryness. If you follow with the cream or gel then your face will feel clean and soft for most of the day. The cleanser foams very well which allows an even coverage on the face. The product feels like silk on your skin when you rub it in. A tiny amount of this stuff could cover your whole face. Even though the stuff is expensive, it does last a long time. It lasted me a good 6 months and i still have about like half of the tube left. I wash my face two times a day when i'm not lazy or have the time. Someting i do not like about this product is that it might not be good for really dry skin because my skin is normal but sometimes in the winter it may feel pretty dry in which this cleanser can make it more dry. This can be solved by using a good moisturizing cream which helps with the dryness. If you're looking for a cleanser then you should try this one.

This product packaging has the appeal like any of the products in the Shiseido product line.  It's simple, pearlescent packaging draws you to it in hopes of a luxurious product.  It has a pleasant smell, nice feel, and a good foaming quality if you like that in your face cleansing regimen.  It produces a rich lather when it comes in contact with damp skin and it feels really nice while cleansing.  If you have particularly dry skin, this might not be the best product for you.  It does effectively clean, but if you don't like a slightly tight, dry feeling on your skin after cleansing, you might need to look elsewhere.  Their Benefiance Creamy Cleansing Foam is more suitable for those with dry skin and is really fabulous as well.  I do feel like the "brightening" claim is valid to this product.  I noticed when I used this at night time my skin did look a bit more alive than usual, especially after those stressful days we all have!

I received a sample size of this cleanser as a gift with purchase and I doubt I would have tried it otherwise.  Don't get me wrong it is a fairly good cleanser, but it didn't do anything for my skin that would justify the price.  I always said if I could find something that did amazing things for my skin or hair I would pay anything for it, but I'm not gonna spend a lot of money for something that is comparable to a product I could find for way less at any drugstore.  I have normal-dry to incredibly dry skin (depending on the time of year) that is very sensitive.  This cleanser didn't cause any irritation or unpleasant reaction, and it wasn't overly drying, especially when used in summer.  As for any whitening effects, I have incredibly pale skin to begin with and didn't notice any change in skin tone or any brightening effects.  I do like the Shiseido brand in general and some of their products are definitely worth what I pay for them, but for a basic cleanser this just isn't worth the price.

I've never used this product before so I decided to get a sample version from my sister. My sister recommened this product to me. She said that it was really good and it doesn't dry up your face like the other cleansers. I've decided to give this a try. My skin is very sensitive to the different types of cleanser I use. But, after the first use, my skin was smooth and my skin actually looks healthy. I'm a very pale girl, so I often look as if I'm sick or something like that. But this product made my skin clean and glow. I don't know about the whitening part, but I do recommend it for cleansing. If you don't want to buy a bottle, you can always get the sample size one and give it a try. I'm still using the sample size bottle. Seriously, you don't even need to use a whole bunch of the cleasing foam, a small tiny bit of foam/cleanser is good enought for your entire face. If you are looking for a great cleanser for you face, I definately recommend this one.
