When I was trying to find a good cleanser that cleans deeply yet also improved the health of my skin, I came across Shiseido's Extra Gentle Cleansing Form. I've been using Shiseido products for many years now and while some have improved, others have not or have stayed the same. I really like the gentle cleanser as it has a great scent and it has sort of a creamy, grainy texture to it. It cleans off my makeup pretty well and it lathers really easily. I prefer facial cleansers that can do more than just clean and this facial cleanser didn't leave my skin feeling tight after wards but it did clean off the makeup pretty well. Effectiveness It cleans well enough if you're looking for something that will clean off makeup as well. Ease of Application Goes on really easily and smoothly. Although it would have been nice if it has a dispenser but I realize that most high end beauty products do not include dispensers for whatever reason. Scent Shiseido always has nice scents to their products and this one was really gentle and not too heavy on the fragrance.

Shiseido gentle cleansing foam is not my favorite, but it is a good cleanser.  The thing that stands out to me the most is how long it will last.  I would use a small amount each time and it would foam up.  It is more expensive than cleansers than you buy at the drug store, but it lasts longer.  I also liked the way the Shiseido cleanser foamed up on my face as I was washing it.  Some cleansers that I've used felt like they didn't really remove my makeup or sunscreen.  Shiseido cleanser, however, really washed everything off so my face felt nice and clean.  I also have sensitive skin and acne, so sometimes products can dry out or irritate my skin.  Shiseido gentle cleansing foam did not break me out, irritate or dry out my skin, or cause any redness.   I used this cleanser along with a Shiseido toner, and I did notice an improvement with my skin tone, but I did not notice an improvement with my acne.

The Shiseido skincare extra gentle cleansing foam is just that. It lathers up really well, comes our super creamy (creamier than a lotion), smells great and is cool to the touch on my face. It cleanses really well, and appears to be very gentle. Unlike other soaps and creams, this may take a little while to wash off your face, but perhaps it is that extra circulation that makes this product work so well. I received this product in the skincare kit (to use before toner and then moisturizer). the packaging is really pretty- almost like a pearlescent color. It is a little pricey, but I'm not sure I want to try another cleanser, with the fear that the cheaper ingredients may harm my skin. I should note that I have light asian freckeled skin.

I tried this for Rosacea but I found it irritating.  What does work for me and is my "can't live without" product group is Shiseido's Pureness line.  It's formulated for acne, but is much gentler and more effective on my Rosacea skin than this extra gentle line.  I adore it.  I think others would like this extra gentle kind depending on skin type.

Shiseido's The Skincare Extra Gentle Cleansing Foam has been my go-to facial cleanser for years, and I have no intention of changing anytime soon!  I've loved all of Shiseido's skincare products and this is no exception.  This cleanser is wonderful, it lathers up beautifully and does a phenomenal job removing makeup, oil and the daily grime feeling of the day.  It is on the pricey side, but I usually only have to use a pea sized amount each time so it goes a long way.  I wear long staying eyeliner and primer and this gets it off with a little effort.  It has a lovely soft clean scent and my skin never feels dry after I wash my face with it - just clean and refreshed.  The consistency is luxurious, it's like a soft whipped cream - it FEELS like it's worth the price you paid.  I've never had a problem with it irritating my eyes or any stinging, it's super gentle and gets the job done.  I highly recommend it!
