The Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina, San Diego was not nearly as comfortable as expected. The room was smaller than anticipated and the bathroom even smaller. We were provided two queen-sized beds which seemed much closer to double beds. Unfortunately, the hotel was hosting a 'cheer-leading' camp during the time we were there and our 'intimate' setting was interrupted by 300 cheering students from 7 A.M. to 9 P.M. This hotel has the softest most comfortable beds. I had to pull the covers off afterwards to find out what kind of bed it was a Beauty Rest mattress. I will buy one next week. The veiw was outstanding over the harbor to the city. The room had a little balcony that my wife and I enjoyed. The outdoor swimming pool had crystal clear water and was as adjacent to the marina. The room was extremely comfortable and very well appointed. The views of the harbor were lovely. The only dining service I used was breakfast, which was excellent. I also used room service, which was equally excellent and delivered on a very timely basis. The Sheraton has the most friendly and accomodating staff I've ever seen at a hotel. My only complaint is that they need to come up with a plan to better block the smell from the boats idleing in the harbor.Recreational Attactions: Short Drive, Balboa park is one of the best attractions in southern California. So much noise @ 1:00 am.I walk up from my sleep. I went to see the receptionist to calm the kids that were making too much noise. After that we could not rest any more until 4:00 am.Kids next room were still making noise,My vacation with my family was very bad.It was very uncomfortable. The Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina had a great view and the staff was very accomodating. The rooms are very small as it is. Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina hotel was far from any places to go out. There was nothing around it. The beach was not close to the hotel as I thought it should be, so I had to walk about 20 minutes under a hot sun... I was partiuclarly pleased the the hotel staff, especially the concierge. She was extremely helpful with getting me a rental car for the week and taking care of my travelling companions needs for returning to the airport. I was attending a convention at this hotel as well and all the meeting rooms and food services were excellent. Great Place!Dining: Short Drive, THe hotel is our on a pennisula but there is wonderful dining in the gaslamp district which is a LONG walk or a short cab ride. I was well taken care of from check in to check out. The staff was wonderful, friendly and helpful. Room service was fast and the food was very good. The room was extremely comfortable, especially the bed.
