Mae West as Diamond Lil, Cary Grant on the verge of super stardom. Still funny with many memorable one line zingers. It's easy to see why Mae upset conservatives and was the target of censors for the rest of her life. Her rise from controversial Broadway star to film star and later a groundbreaking headliner in Las Vegas, is a testament to the power of both sex and feminism. The movie is dated and some may look at Mae (who was 40 and full figured when she made this) and wonder how she became a huge sex symbol-then again you probably will understand exactly why.
#26 on my list of Great Movies.
