Sharpie Pen —

Quick View: These pens are really NOT traditional pens in my opinion. They are super fine markers with hard tips that don't bleed through paper. I really like them but the blue ink could be a darker blue. It's more of a medium blue. Otherwise, these rock.

About Sharpie Pens

First let me say that I am a pen FANATIC.I buy pens all the time and have some that cost more than I will admit to anyone. I ask my doctor if I can have one of his pens all the time. At every visit. He has a big cup with a ton of pens from different drug companies and I swear, I don't mind the long wait to see him because I am playing his pens. That's sad, I know. The last visit, he gave me a pen with a key ring thing on it that repeled after using it. I was so excited about the dumb pen that I forgot why I was there for a minute. Lest you wonder, I am not mentally challanged. Just pen addicted.

I am a journal writer and I have a fit if my pen smears or bleeds through the page. Having said all that, I HAD to try the new Sharpie Pen. I love Sharpie markers and find every excuse to use them but I could never use even a fine Sharpie to journal with. When the new pens were introduced, I made it loudly known that I wanted some. My husband and sister both bought me some for my birthday last month.

I tossed aside everything else and opened the pens. Sharpie Pens look like thin metallic pens or markers with a pull off cap. The tip isn't pen-like. It looks to me like an ultra fine marker tip. I really didn't believe the pen wouldn't bleed through pages but I started with the black one and wrote a test paragraph. Hmm. No bleeding, no smearing. Nice, dark ink. WINNER!

I prefer blue ink so I was excited to try the blue Sharpie Pen. Uh oh. Major faux pas! The ink isn't real dark blue. It's like...medium blue. It doesn't bleed or smear but I really, really want Sharpie to make a deeper blue pen.

Despite my blues over the blue ink, I like the new Sharpie Pen and use one all the time. I journal with them and write checks with them. I even lost a little bit of my doctor pen lust since I got my Sharpie Pens but I have an appointment Wednesday and I'm sure it will rush back when I see the big cup filled with assorted types of writing utensils.

Still, I have to say that Sharpie has come through and made a pen that you can actually use to write with and not worry about smearing or bleeding. My friend is a leftie and he says the ink doesn't smear at all when he writes and most inks do for him.

These pens don't have any rubber on them to give you a better grip on them but I haven't had any issues when writing with them even for long lengths of time. They come in black, blue, green, and red ink and are inexpensive. They come in a two or four pack or a box of 12. They may come in other quantities but I got both a two and four pack and have yet to see the pens when I have been shopping anywhere.

My Viewpoint

Sharpie Pens are not premium pens and not my favorites but they are a pleasant change from usual pens. The ink dries immediately and doesn't smear and you can write on both sides of the paper. My only disappointment is that the blue ink is a tad light. Otherwise, these pens are fun to use and easy on the hands. They also glide smoother than many ballpoint pens. 4 stars. SHARPIE! Make a deep blue ink pen for we blue ink fans, pleeassseeeee!

I really do lust doctor pens. I have one doctor who has the most enormous pen cup with all kinds and all styles. They all have drug company names on them and stuff but they're all fun to play with. I often wonder what that one doctor thinks when he sees me going through his pens like a little kid in a toy box. lol.

I don't steal em! I bat my eyelashes and lustfully look at the pen I want. The doctor offers it to me. If he doesn't, I say lustfully, "Wow, I wish I had a pen like this." and he says, "You can have that one." Then I think "BOOYA!"

These are good pens but I want DARK blue not medium blue. I am writing to the company. Really.

I've read many of your reviews here and elsewhere, and this is one of your most entertaining-yet-wickedly-informative one yet. (Still smiling at the "Doctor pen lust" bit.)

Once a pen thief, always a pen thief I say!!! ;P

Oh ew. That never occurred to me. I was just at the doctor's today and he was writing with a pen I wanted to beg him for but I stayed quiet because I didn't know him well. I guess I'll have to steal some rubber gloves out of the box and THEN play with the pens! lol.

OMG I'm a penaholic too. I too especially covet the cool prescription related pens at the doctor's office but when I feel the urge to play with them and/or steal one I try to remember that a thousand sick people probably touched them and I back off. :)

Me too although in general I prefer blue ink. I'm getting used to black ink lately though.

I have so many that it's crazy. I really like the heavier pens with rubber around the bottom though. I have a few expensive pens that just call out to me to use them. I like these because, if I lose one, I won't be upset since they're inexpensive.

I like some Pentel ball pens right now. Pens change so much any more it's hard to get a favorite. They are usually gone by the time you know you like em. ;>

Yes, it's just a bit light but I do like that it doesn't smear and dries fast. I love pens as you know. lol.

When I bought you these, I bought myself a package. I think the blue is too light too but they write nice!
