Sharper Image Ionic Breeze Gets the Dust Out But Doesn't Last

Sharper Image Ionic Breeze - Air Purifier - Professional Plus —
The Sharper Image Ionic Breeze Air Purifier starts out very promising. It virtually sucks the dust from the air and collects it all on the removable, cleanable inner piece. After time though, there are parts of the unit that you CAN'T clean and eventually the dust and grease build up (especially if you have an open floor plan and you cook a lot), makes the unit crackle so much so that it sounds like a bug zapper. The outside of the unit itself also tends to collect dust so there are a lot of parts to try to keep clean. Wanting a quiet room outweighed the benefits of leaving the unit on. Lastly, the unit does emit the smell of a copying machine...which now that we have a baby in the house, for her safety, we don't use the unit anymore.
