"Best phone on the market for texting," but that's it!

3

The sidekick 2 is great if you love to txt, but the camera is bad, besides whatever is in the catalog on the phone, you cant download anything else to it. And its way to big and bulky. So I'd say its an okay phone, but if you dont have to, then dont waste your money on it.

One of the worst cell phones on the market.

1

I purchased this phone thinking that it would be good for me. Shortly after I realized that this phone doesn't do the basic features that a regular cell phone should do. Once a month my contacts and pictures would be deleted out of the phone. Just recently T-mobile stated that there was a malfunction with the phone.

its very complicated to use.

3

I used a friends for about a day, and its so complicated. I like the key board and screen, but its big and hard to fit in my tight jeans and really hard to hide in class. I like the light and every thing but i always get lost when I'm trying to get from like text to make a call. Plus it has no camera, and that sucks. I'm a teenager, obviously, and have had and tried many cells before and I love this one, but its to confusing. I like the scroll ball though... :  )

Tmobile sidekick is awful

1

I got my first cellular contract with Tmobile when I went away to college. I choose the Tmobile sidekick as my phone of choice. I will admit at the time I was just fascinated by the flipping mechanics of the phone, but I did the 30 day test before officially locking into a 2 year contract to see if the service was up to par. The service was great until I left the store. I barely received a signal walking around on campus, but it was virtually non existent in my dorm room. I spent most of my time on the 2nd floor of my dorm building in the corner in front of a big open window trying to get a signal. I noticed other people with the same phone and I asked them if they had encountered this problem. They all admitted to having weak signal strength, but just like me they like the flipping technology of the device. I tried using the phone in different areas, but I would always lose signal a couple seconds into a phone call. I finally wised up and got overthe look of the phone. I realized I needed a phone service that actually allowed me to make and receive calls. After a couple of weeks I decided to take the phone back in to see if I could exchange it for another device. I thought maybe it's the phone because it doesn't have an antenna and that could be the problem for the poor reception.  I'm in the Tmobile Store where I got the phone from and I am in the process of exchanging the phone during my trial run, but I guess they weren't used to customers making request. Instead of granting my request they essentially accused me of damaging the phone because the signal issues I've been having couldn't be their problem. I admittedly gave them the phone back and asked for a proof of return receipt. It was given and I was on my way. I don't know if it was a defective phone or a bad service, but do to the poor customer service I guess I will never find out.

AWSOME PHONE!

5

Bottom line, I LOVE the Sidekick LX (2007)! It has a large bright screen, loud ringtones, great pics with flash, a reliable keyboard, MP3 player, email, texting, caladar, notes. . . .   It dosent have video, youtube, touchscreen. . .but who cares it was 2007! Out of all the sidekicks this was one of my favorites! The camara takes greats pics, no lag, theres a awsome flash! The ringtones and music play loudly so you can hear, but I wish they had a speaker part on the back too becasue if I lay my phone face down you cant hear the ringer too well. The keyboard has never casued me any issues. MP3 player has always worked great and very easy to upload music. Email, texting, caladar and notes are all the same as every other sidekick very simple and easy to use. You can load multiple email accouts which I LOVED!   Overall this a a great phone, even if it is from 2007, I wish I still had it, Id definatly refer to others.

Never judge sidekick 08's by its cover

3

The sidekick 08 is a great phone on the outside but it's like they say, "Never judge a book by it's cover." The phone will work great one day then the next day you'll lose all your contacts, ring tones, basically everything you bought and or put in the phone. I spent so much money on this phone to do what it was advertised for to only find out that it's better to use it as a toy for a child. the phone was never dropped on the ground or in water. Every time I brought it to t-mobile all they could say was all sidekicksare having technical difficulties. Took out my sidekick slide switched the sim card and used that for a month got no problems and I went to them again and they said that it's just the 08 versions that are having the problems. So i decided if the phone i bought to do the tasks it was advertised to do wouldn't work then I needed to use my sidekick slide and give it to my little brother because he said even though it acts the way it does he wanted to sow it off to his friends.

Good cell but very bad system

2

The sidekick slide when 1st came out looked up to expections on being a good cell phone, but later discovers show that the sidekick slide is un capable to do certain things as of video recording, the only thing that makes it nice is the emailing, full keyboard, text messaging, instant messanger and some applications. but the system known a danger has failure to repair problems or down networks with a reasonable timeline. while from a experience when the system for tmobile network for the sidekick was down it tokk many weeks to replace, which involved not being able to sign onto your cell phone which made things awful, and also while the system was down oyu would lose certain things such as pictures, text messages, picture messages, and also pictures you have taken on your phone that the danger or tmobile couldnt get back or retrieve and made things very bad and made me and thousands of tmobile sidekick slide users very mad. you where unable to retrieve these things back at all, so in all expectations of the sidekick, it was a good cell but further investagations show its very bad and highly recommendeed that know one purchase this cell phone or any **sidekick cell phone versions.**

great phone

4

This is a very great, up to todays technology phone. It is very useful and entertaining. My experience with this phone was very positive. Didnt really have any cons exept didnt have any flash to it. But other than that it was a great phone. Its small and compactable. Fits anywhere. The music player on the phone was very clear and loud enough. Mp3. file supported. Very good phone. The pictures were colorful and and the screen is very clear and pretty. Video playback could have done better but it was pretty cool. The qwerty keyboard was a help with the phone. I would recomend the phone to anybody who loves to text alot. It also comes with the IM messaging applied already on there. It has its own download catalog, where you can purchase you goods like ringtones, or applications, etc. Overal I would give this phone two thumbs up. Tmobile did a fairly great job with this sidekick phone and its pros.
