Outstanding TV for the price

Comments about Sharp - Aquos LC-D62U 37 in. HDTV LCD TV:

This is a class leading TV for its size. At 37 inches people argue about being able to tell the difference between 720p and 1080p content. As it turns out, with this TV you can definitely tell the difference (provided you aren't too far away). With this TV about 8 feet away from your viewing position you can definitely make out the minute details 1080p has to offer. The remote for this TV is factastic. The buttons are laid out in a sensible manner and it is backlit so it is easy to see in a dark home theater environment. My experiences with Sharp customer service have been fantastic thus far. I have not yet had to call them for service on this TV (knock on wood) but I know if I need to in the future everything will go smoothly. I would hightly recommend picking up an antenna to take advantage of the built in ATSC tuner. The picture quality provided by over the air broadcasts can't be beat. A great buy!

Clear TV, great lower-price entry level 1080p

Comments about Sharp - Aquos LC-D62U 37 in. HDTV LCD TV:

This is my first HD TV and has performed admirably, however there are a few features that it seems to lack or not execute perfectly.

Though it may seem a bit picky changing channels on the TV receiver takes too long (difficult when attempting to channel surf like I enjoy) because you are staggered at each flip.  The inputs on the back of the TV give you lots of options for additional devices like video game consoles, PC and DVD players.  However one disappointment lies within the lack of PIP (picture in picture) which I would like to see on this kind of TV.

Otherwise the blacks are pretty black, the whites are clear and it responds well for the price.

Be careful when you first purchase however, I had to take the first two TVs back because of more than three dead pixels right out of the box on each TV, so be sure to turn it on and carefully study the field to make sure that you are going to have a perfect image.
