I read up on LCD and Plasma at PC World when I wanted to go big screen.  Whether LCD/Plasma, is your choice, but they said it was the best buy for the quality and low price.  I also wanteded over 50 inches and didn't like the burn in of the plasma's.  I paid $2,200 for this on-line at Lcdplamadeals.com, the nearest on-line competetor was +$300 at Abe's of Maine.  The big box retailer (BBuy) wants $4,000 still!  For another $800 I bought a 4 year in home warranty and got the mounting kit and 10 foot HDMI cable free.

I'm very pleased with this TV.  The price was fantastic and the...

The picture quality was the first thing to catch my eye for this TV.  The ease of use was a huge bonus.  I was surprised how easy it was to set up and use.  I plugged in my cable and it automatically found all of the chanels.  It even found all of the local digital chanels that I did not even know were available.  The on-screen menus are easy to use and the instruction manual was well written.

I was able to hook up my PC and now have a 52 inch monitor.  I love this feature for showing pictures and since my PC is also my PVR ( PC based tivo ).  My brother and a co-worker saw the TV and each...

The Sharp Aquos 52" LCD HDTV is one of the better HDTVs on the market. However, it does not come close to the Sony Bravia XBR 52" LCD HDTV. I had the Sharp for awhile because the new Bravia had not been realeased as yet. Once available, I sold the Sharp to a friend who is not nearly as critical about picture quality as I am. I immediately bought the Sony Bravia XBR. All buyers should beware that even Sony has different quality levels in their 52" HDTVs, as does Sharp. research your selection thoroughly before you make your choice. There is no substitute for the best.

I love my sharp Aquos.  I waited over a year to buy it.  Originally it was selling for near $4,000 and I got it for about $2200.  It has great picture quality on hd channels and non-hd channels.  I'm not even a huge football fan and yet find myself watching the game so that I can see all those blades of grass!  I highly recommend this product.

Not sure how normal this is, but sometimes while I'm watching tv the picture brightness fades a bit.

Did a lot of online research before purchasing the product.  The one negative most reviews did not highlight is the fact that with such a large screen, the picture is better from farther back (i.e. works better in bigger rooms).  With some sporting events and shows filmed with handheld, the resolution is disappointing, but with the HD tv channels, and many of the movie channels, the resolution is mindblowing - watching Batman Returns was like seeing it at the theatre.

My husband is a man's man and this 52 inch monster is a man's man television!  We put this thing on our wall over the fireplace and it looks great!  It took 2 techs and my husband to secure the thing on the wall mount, so apparently it is heavy.  You nee to make sure you do not get a tilt mount!  Get a fixed mount and the viewing range will be perfect.  You will not have neck strain.  I have noticed that if it is "high noon" and you would like to watch a show looking straight on, you do get an annoying glare from the sun  -  but a quick bounce to the other couch solves that problem!  The... review »

Sharp Aquos LC52D62U-  Out of the box it performed as if it were robotic.  Some good heads worked on this design.  Picture is unbeatable with a Blu-Ray DVD.  Satellite HD is strong and "In your face".  Setup and changing device connections are "logical".  Baby is heavy (75lbs.) get a friend to help you hoist it up on the wall, sit back, and watch her go! Price was right at $1699 from Dell ( On sale).  Love this TV!!!!!!!!!

My first HDTV was this exact 52in sharp aquos television. i was really really impressed with the picture quality on this set.  the only downside i came across was the fact that i sat closer than 5 feet to the television due to the size of my room so i could see a lot of grain. If this set was equipped with the 120hz processor that would have gotten rid of that problem. sharp did have a 52in 120hz television but that tv was $3500...way overpriced if u ask me.

This has changed our TV viewing habits. We were channel surfers, rarely finding anything on TV that we actually enjoyed watching. Now we are truly amazed at the picture that the Sharp Aquos offers. The fine detail is so amazing; you see things on the screen that you would actually miss if you were standing 3 feet from the person or animals on-screen. I now see why the actors were having a fit when HD first came out - now they all need face lifts and such. Too funny.

We purchased this TV about 1 year ago and have been very happy with it since. Great picture and no problems with motion. Only slight problem is when the picture we are watching goes from a dark to light the picture does take a few seconds to adjust. Also when the program we are watching is dark, the screen is very dark and hard to see. The 1080 is awesome and we are sooo happy with the TV.
