Great television overall

5

My family and I moved into a new house in 2011. We needed to replace our living room television set because it was the old tube style. This style television is outdated and it takes up a lot of space. We did a lot of research online and at some retail stores. The television that we brought was the Sharp Aquos 46 inch hdtv. We loaded it in the truck and could not wait to test it out. We attached the necessary cables and wires to make it work. We turned on the television and we was amazed by the picture quality. This television fits perfectly in our living room because it is the perfect size for our small family. I enjoy watching my favorite sport games on this television because it makes me feel like I am there in person. Picture Quality Every show or sporting event I watch on this television is crystal clear. The picture is awesome in so many ways. Sound Quality This product has awesome sound quality because I do not have to turn up the volume way up to hear my favorite shows. I do not have to go past ten on my remote, to hear like I am at the sporting event in person. Durability This product is made to last for many years of entertainment for you and your family. Design I love the design of this television because it is very slim and it can be moved from side to side to give me the right angle to entertain your friends and family. Performance This television out performs every television that I have ever bought in my life because of the picture quality and sound.

Love this flatscreen TV

Although this is my first flat screen TV, I feel it is a very good quality TV set. And Sharp is a well known company. Picture Quality When viewing TV channels in high definition the picture quality is great. However when viewing channels in standard definition, the picture quality is not great. The picture is fuzzy and stretched. Some of my craft channels are offered in standard definition only. At the end of some of the shows information displayed on the screen is stretched to the point where some of the text is not visible. It is too far to the left or right of the screen. I still rated this TV a five because I believe this issue exists on all flat screen TV's and is not a manufacturer flaw. Sound Quality Sound quality is ok for this TV, however I have a sound system attached to it so that I can enjoy a theater type sound when watching movies. Durability Prior to purchasing a flat screen TV my concern was the possibility of the TV falling over. The way they are designed it looks like they can easily fall over. The screen size is 46 inches and the attached stand is half that size sort of like a top heavy truck driving down the street. One sharp turn and watch it fall over. Well it turns out that the TV base is very sturdy and it is attached to the TV very well. And it is well balanced. However, the TV is very heavy and if it flew off the table in an earthquake someone could be seriously injured. Design I love the design of the TV. The speaker is at the bottom and it is not obvious. I rated the design a four because there are only a set amount of widgets installed and there is no way to add widgets. I watch movies on Netflix a lot. I have a computer attached to the TV. In-order to watch a movie on Netflix I have to turn the computer on. If this TV had a Netflix widget installed or at least the ability for me to add a Netflix widget then I wouldn't have to turn my PC on to watch a Netflix movie and I would be using least electricity. Performance I have had the TV for several years and the only problem I have had with it is when I put my computer in sleep mode and wake it up the monitor does not wake up. I have to perform a cold shutdown (press the power button the computer) and my computer hates that.

"Hey honey, I got this great deal for the Superbowl!"

As you may have gotten from the title, this was not my purchase. I didn't even KNOW about it till it was up on the wall downstairs. However, even I have to admit it was time to turn off life support on our old flatscreen, and once I get past the joy of being head cook and housemaid for whatever Superbowl party my family dreams up, I may enjoy the occasional movie-that-does-not-involve-explosives on it. If he ever gives up the remote. Picture Quality Gorgeous. And without that wide-everything fun house mirror quality some widescreens have. Sound Quality It will be better once it's hooked up to the speakers of the theater-surround system - another purchase I was not told about before it became a fixture in my house. Durability It's brand-new, but it does have a 5-year warranty against everything, including lightning strikes, so if it isn't durable, it still isn't going to cost me. Design I could have done with a thinner (or different color) frame, since wide and black isn't part of my chosen decor, but I didn't pick it out. Not bad, though, just more industrial/tech than the rest of my very traditional room. Performance So far, so good - we'll see how it does with the Superbowl!

Good quality for an okay price

It is not a bad television. I have had mine for a number of years and nothing has ever been defective with it. While I know that there may be better tvs out there, this one has held up really good for me. Picture Quality The picture quality is pretty good, especially when you use the HD channels. Sound Quality The sound is pretty good. I have no complaints. Durability I have moved all across the country and I've been hauling this television everywhere I go. It has held up beautifully, never any damage. Design The television has a pleasing design to it and good lines. Performance I have been happy with the my television's performance. I have even hooked it up to my computer to stream movies and tv shows.
