I recently replaced my older model microwave after my 9 year old warmed pizza wrapped in aluminum foil! After discussing with her in extreme detail why she should never try that again, I settled on the Sharp 1100 Watt Microwave. I like it's design right away. It wasn't over the top but it also wasn't simply average. It has 6 preset heating times for popular microwavable foods - pizza - (without the aluminum foil), popcorn and others. The popcorn button on the microwave has different timers that are based on the size of the bag and it goes by ounces so that's something to know before you to prevent you from making over cooked or half popped bags.The defrost button can be a little bit annoying - or, you may otherwise be very thankful. The defrost setting will ring every 30 to 60 seconds so you can ensure that you don't have meat come out well done in some areas and still frozen in others. It works for me because I tend to forget that I am defrosting something and it ends us half cooked and half raw - which really stinks when you plan to use ground beef for making marinara sauce. If you are meticulous with timing, this feature may be a bother for you. Other than that, I really don't have any issues with it. It works well and was not difficult to adjust to in comparison to the one I had to replace. It is actually an upgrade from my previous one. Performance Easy to learn and adjust to. Settings/Features The defrost bell can be a bit annoying for some people. Durability So far it's working well.

This microwave was a replacement for another Sharp Carousel that my family purchased in the late 90s. The previous microwave lasted forever so we got another Sharp Carousel based on previous experience. This one works just as well and we love all of the options it offers. It is easy to set up out of the box and the buttons are easy to use. It has a lot of different settings based on what you are making. We usually only use it for the occasional popcorn, reheating a meal, or heating a microwavable side dish, but it heats everything evenly and quickly. I have found that it is very easy to clean. Based on the size, I would say it is priced right and will hopefully last a long time.

We like it very much & it is a must have for our kitchen. It comes with a 1year limited warranty. Sharp microwaves are known for their durability & I hope this will last too.We would definitely recommend it to someone.

I love my Sharp Carousel Microwave Oven because of its touch button features that allows you to cook dinner plates, casseroles, rolls/muffins, baked potatoes, fresh vegetables, ground meat, frozen vegetables, and microwave pizza.  There is a popcorn setting the makes microwave popcorn perfectly without burning it.  There is a Compu Defrost feature that allows for defrosting of various meats as well.  You can also use the variable power setting to reduce the wattage.  The digital leds show the times and let you know when you are finished cooking.  The size of the microwave oven is compact.  The Sharp Carousel Microwave oven is also easy to clean, just remove and clean off the carousel plate, and then wipe down the inside of the microwave oven.  The microwave is good for heating water for instant coffee or tea.  My wife and I have used our microwave for the past 4 years and it has become an indispensable part of our household.  We have never experienced a power or electrical problem and we continue to use our microwave oven on a daily basis.

I actually purchased this microwave because it was the only one available at the store I was shopping at, AND it is a Sharp Carousel.  I have always been a fan of Sharp and I absolutely LOVE their sensor cooking feature. Although this particular microwave does not have a "sensor" feature specifically, it DOES have another option that is rather handy, ONCE you have figured it out. There are a ton of options and settings available on this unit.  Everything from popcorn to warming.  You select the Option you want (ie. Defrost, Warm, etc.) and then you enter the number of servings or portions you are working with.  I didn't much like this when I first got the unit, but now it's pretty cool.  If you follow the instructions for the particular option, the food is perfect when it shuts off. I use the "cooking fresh veggies" option most, and the food is perfect when it shuts off.  I've even used the setting to soften some ice cream, fully expecting the ice cream to be like totally melted.  NOPE . . . it was perfectly "softened".  Awesome !

We have had the Sharp Microwave for over 3 years now.  It is a very good appliance.  We have not had any difficulty with it.  The only thing that is going wrong now is that the numbers are not showing up correctly in the display, but that I am sure is due to age.  I would purchase another one, without hesitation.

**Although I have not owned this Microwave Oven for long, can tell you that it works very much to my expectations, it's fast, very quiet and spacious a big plus for big dishes and lots of food being reheated or cooked, I am a value conscious, and budget minded person who looks for bargains every purchase, chose this microwave as Sharp is a well respected company and innovators of the turntable, carousel as it is well known, food cooks and reheats in half the usual time of other microwaves, cooks a baked potatoe in fifteen minutes. I would recommend this brand to everyone desireing a reliable and well made microwave oven with a turntable, the only  downfall of this microwave is a seeminly flimsy light plastic door, which is a shame because Sharp has been making these mcrowaves for years and have been well known for their reliability and quality, my only hope it last for longer than ten years as it is taking the place of a Amana microwave which lasted twenty years hard use, four stars I rated this microwave because of the flimsy door but seems to be holding up well for being flimsy.**
