Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings - 100 Days, 100 Nights —

Stax......Motown.......Atlantic.....we all remember the names of the labels that gave us the great soul sound of the 50's & 60's. That classic analog sound with a tight band made for some of the greatest song's that still play on to this very day.Speaking of today that sound has proved just how timeless it really is and how much it is greatly appreciated.

Amy Winehouse's Back To Black took most of it's sound from that time in music and the band that helped her pull it off was the Dap Kings. Long before Amy their was Sharon Jones belting out her version of the simple yet brilliant sound of yesterday. Jones and her band of Brooklyn soul brothers create a vintage sound that plays well for today's ear. Providing painfully cool instrumentation the Dap King's compliment Sharon's raw and beautiful vocals one never outdoing the other. With 100 Days, 100 Nights(their latest release), Jones and Co. give you melodies and choruses you could hum as you walked home from work or through the light of an early summer day.

The standout track of the Cd this the Cd itself....period! Every track gives you it's all from start to finish which is what a good Cd should do.  Everything about this singer, this band, this packaging, and this sound is vintage but well geared for today's ear with vast taste for music from yesterday to today.
