If you like old style R &B from the 60's and early 70's , give " 100 Days , 100 Nights"  a listen .

The title song of the same name  is reminiscent of songs of that era and you will feel that you have been transported in a time machine back to that golden era of R&B. There are even some background singers echoing the words " 100 days " that provides an old school feel .

The 60's sound seems popular again with the arrival of other artists like Duffy who reminds me a lot of Dusty Springfield , and this CD is in the same genre .

Sharon Jones has an incredible voice  - it is rich , husky, sassy  and melodious - it reminds me a bit of early Aretha Franklin or maybe the more modern sound of Susan Tedeschi .

The instruments on this CD include the sax , congas , bongos, trumpet and the clavinet which contribute to the old fashioned sound of the recording .  The band is a decided asset to Sharon's able pipes .

One of my favorite tracks on the CD is " Humble Me " - the song is full of longing and pathos and talks about not forgetting your roots .

Overall, this is a really nice selection of songs for those who like early Aretha or Dusty .
