Sex and The City - The Movie —

No one who knows me will be surprised that I give Sex and the City five stars. I was 18 when Sex and the City aired on HBO for the last time. I get goosebumps and tears in my eyes when I remember the last time I saw Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda grace my TV screen. I converted both my high school and college sweethearts to Sex and the City fans who are not ashamed to admit their allegiance to the Fab Four. These stories show you what type of Sex and the City fan I was and always will be. Imagine my reaction when I learned that SJP, Michael Patrick King and the rest of my favorite crew were teaming up to bring me a feature-length film. (Pinch me: I'm dreaming.)

Sex and the City did not disappoint me. The plots, the clothes, the characters: nothing changed. It was the ultimate reunion. The movie's length - 2.5 hours - was abominable to some but too short for me. I felt that Sex and the City was just an extended episode from an original season. Every die-hard Sex and the City fan will love this movie, and so will anyone who loves a good laugh, fashion, the glitterati and drama.

I'll admit I had to accept the fact that nothing ever turns out to be what it once was. Sex and the City was no different. The introduction of Jennifer Hudson's character caught me completely off-guard, despite the fact I knew she had a cameo. I could not and will not embrace her cameo the way some fans did and thought her role was completely unnecessary to the story. However, the writers did do a good job of incorporating Hudson's cameo and making her role believeable. (I just wish she wouldn't have been in it at all. It was like bringing a new friend in to an old clique - awkward.) Oh, and Fergie's introductory song? Please. A horse would have sounded better.

Sex and the City deserves five stars. But, I'm biased. I'm a Sex and the City devotee now and forever - no matter how many times Mr. Big breaks my heart.

Hopefully I'll be able to give the sequel five stars too!

Sounds like Hudson was probably in the movie just to bring some younger fans to the movie (people who didn't watch the series that much).

There's gonna be a sequel???? I still gotta see this. My friend and I had planned to since it's not my husbands thing, but it never happened. I think I'll just rent it over my christmas break to see it myself :)
