Plot: When a group of co-workers head to the mountains of Eastern Europe for a team building weekend, things start going wrong. Very wrong.
Sometimes in a spoof horror, the comedy overpowers the horror and it just comes off stupid. The opposite could also happen and it then just becomes a badly acted horror movie. Thankfully, Severance had the perfect balance of humor and horror. I didn't sit through the whole movie laughing but some parts made me burst out laughing. I was on the edge of my seat for a good while in the middle of the movie but, it was nicely broken up with semi humorous moments. The directing and cinematography were well done along with some great gore special effects.
Andy Nyman, Danny Dyer (Outlaw), Tobey Stevins, Babou Ceesay, Claudie Blakely, and Laura Harris are the stars of this movie. They all put in pretty believable and well rounded performances. I especially like Danny Dyer. He's really becoming a great actor.
All in all, Severance is a great movie that keeps you entertained the entire time. This seems to me like a good dinner movie. This one will definitely be added my to DVD collection on September 25th of this year (when it comes out).
