It's a good magazine for young girls.

I used to read Seventeen magazine when I was a teenager, and loved it. It is a great resource for young people for fashion, beauty advice and interesting articles. I am a high school Spanish teacher who occasionally takes students on educational trips. I have come across quite a few female high school students who either buy Seventeen magazine or have a subscription. The models are beautiful, fashionable, and usually are very natural looking (not too made up or wearing super risque clothing). The girls I teach also love to read Seventeen magazine when it gets close to the prom. Seventeen has a lot of ads for prom dresses. They also have informational articles about issues that high school girls deal with at this stage in their lives. There is an advice column where girls can ask and read about relationship issues, and a section for tips on skin, hair and makeup. Even though Seventeen has been around for a long time, the magazine is still as popular and relevant as ever.

I can't not buy this

I've been reading this for about 5 years now, I still love it as much as I did back then. A lot of the articles are relatable, great fashion and beauty tips. I love the little health workout section and the hair section that gives a different hairstyle for everyday of the week. A must have for girls

Seventeen needs to a body image fix

4

I think it's good for it's healthy eating tips as well as it's coverage for celebrities. My main issue is with body image. They show outfits on these girls who are 90 pounds soaking wet and then label her curvy. I know they are trying to sell sexy but for a magazine that 'tries' to promote a healthy body image, it does a very poor job. Show normal girls, not just models. It will show girls that normal people are pretty too, not just those girls you only find on magazine covers. Seventeen, just give people normal. It beats unrealistic any day.

I love Seventeen magazine. I love how they have fashion for more than just one type of taste. I also love how they don't just have fashion but also diys and inspiring stories from celebrities. And you can't forget the freebies X) I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEIR FREEBIES. They are actually things that I wouldn't mind wearing, using, or showing off.

This is a great magazine for teens and betweens.

This is a great magazine for your teenagers and preteen. It is a bright easy read that offers a variety of information to your children.  Topics are timely and well presented.  There is information to suppliment those talks that our children love from us.  The information is appropriate and accurate from my point of view. Fashions are not over the top and are in a price range that is manageable for the average person.  The content is light , bright and well presented.  This is a great first read for your teen.

Magazine Orders: A Tricky business

1

Everyone knows the Internet is taking over. Selling magazines became difficult so marketers must find new ways to get subscriptions. Is it ethical to trick consumer into buying a low-quality magazine? No, It's not. Seventeen magazine did that to me and probably many more. They said it was a subscription for freebies. I  love freebies so I put down my address and the promo code. It was actually a magazine subscription. I sent a frank e-mail firmly stating that I wish my unfair subscription be cancelled. They might not have read it, right? Wrong. In every issue, magazines have a column of customer e-mails, so I'm pretty sure they read mine. They went ahead and sent me a magazine. I didn't complain about the price because it was actually a good deal, but I expected a better product. Seventeen magazine...what's wrong with that? The magazine was short and uninteresting. I have read all their stories before. Nothing new, nothing exciting. Seventeen magazine.

I absolutely love this magazine.  It always has the best fashion advice and fitness tips.  It is also very informative on dating and everyday things going on in a teenage girls life.  Every issue is interesting and fun and I am never disappointed when I receive my magazine, I'm always excited and anxious to receive my next issue as soon as I finish reading my current one.  Finally, Seventeen is a very affordable magazine.

Seventeen Magazine is sophomoric - but isn't all bad.

I  am a 20 year old college student who prefers novels to any fashion magazine. However, I work at a teenage-geared clothing store and like to keep up on the trends, so I subscribe to Seventeen magazine. The writing style is very young - simple words and little journalism, but hey, it's a teenage magazine. They often times have at least one important story: a girl who was bullied, a girl who was denied a job because of her race, sex issues young girls face, a girl who speaks out against suicide or eating disorders, etc. It gives good advice about style for different body types, popular hair and skin products, dating advice, famous actors/singers/etc., healthy snacks and food options, as well as a tailored work-out every month. If anyone thinks it shows too much sexuality, they're in for a rude awakening. I think it's often times lighter than the reality of what teenagers do these days. It's not Shakespeare, but it's a good choice for a teenage magazine with lots of poofy information for a low price and no profanity.
