I saw Will Smith on Oprah promoting Seven Pounds, and she mentioned that throughout the movie you couldn't tell for sure whether his character, I.R.S. agent Ben Thomas, was really a good guy or bad guy. Now having watched the film, I never doubted which guy he was here. There were a few moments that... read full review »

The movie seven pounds with will smith was disappointing. I am a big will smith fan I loved him in Hitch, Hancock, The pursuit of happyness and also bad Boys. Will is such a good actor but this movie was a big flop. According to IMD.com will smith was nominated for a 2009 Naacp Image award for seven...

I really didn't expect this movie to be like this-it was depressing, and if you really want a good tear jerker, then by all means I recommend it. It was a good movie, and it had a good plot. It was interesting and I didn't fall asleep--that says a lot!

I didn't expect the ending though, I think I expected it to be a feel good do-gooder type of movie, and it didn't turn out to be all "warm and fuzzy" like I wanted it to be. There are way too many depressing things out here today to focus on without things like this being on a movie screen and in your face.

I suppose I should have chosen a comedy....

Thanks to the invention of a DVR, I never see ads for anything anymore. Not for dog food, or toilet bowl cleaners or crappy reality tv shows. I don't miss any of those things. What I do miss though, is the trailers for the current films.

I totally missed any of the advertisement for the movie Seven Pounds with Will Smith. When the movie popped up on the Redbox as a new release, I rented it on a whim since it had Will Smith in it. I have to admit that if it was Will Smith sitting in a chair reading a phone book, I'd probably want to see it.

That being said, I was a little concerned at the beginning...

I had no idea what this movie was about when I decided to watch it.  I just love Will Smith's acting and wanted to see another one of his movies.  To be honest I did cry a bit at the ending...and I did like the movie when it was over---but not enough to rave about it.  I simply just told a few people that were talking to me about it that I liked it, simple enough.
About an hour ago something reminded me about the movie and I started to tell my significant other about it.  I ended up rambling on and on about it until the ending slipped out of the mouth (he wasn't going to watch it anyways...so...

I Knew long ago Will Smith would become a fine actor. He has something about him that makes you want to watch even when the movie might not be something you would normally sit down for. At least thats how it is for me.

My good friend warned me that Seven Pounds might seem a bit slow in the beginning, but haveing read a write up about the movie, I knew it wasnt all about action this time. Seven Pounds, I think, did a fine job from the very start. They carefully fill you in on the story without dwelling to long in the past. Instead we are given a close and personal look at his characters current...

I loved, loved, loved Seven Pounds. I think it was Will Smith's best movie yet. I was slightly confused as to what was going on but that was my fault. I went back after i had seen it and it really told you at the begining what was going on. In pursuit of happiness will looked like he was getting ready to tell a joke to me. I guess i hadnt seen him in a serious film. His portrayl of Ben in 7 pounds was awesome. Even though i didnt know what was going on at first i was intrigued and had to see the end of the fim. Its about depression, redemtion and love. A real tear-jearker, but its so beautiful...

I found Seven Pounds to be quite a disappointment. The advertising campaign was excellent, which is what got me into the theater in the first place. However, once there, I found the film disturbing and depressing. People can face tradegy in life with better outcomes. I would not recommend this film to anyone who is prone to depression or films affect them emotionally.

The movie Seven Pounds is an outstanding movie. Both the screenwriter and director's commentaries explain in great detail how the movie came about and it was very interesting to read them explain their take on the movie. I wish there was a book to read that this movie was based on because I would certainly buy it. I loved the story and Will Smith is excellent as the tormented man who is trying to make what he believes is a major wrong - somehow right. The movie grips you from the very beginning and lets you just waiting for the next scene. Rosario Dawson is also excellent as Smith's friend... read full review »
