We were looking for a "boost of comfort" to our foam mattress, this fits the bill. It has been great having it & it has helped my back pain.

I decided to try the Serta Deluxe 2-inch Memory Foam Mattress Topper because of the significantly lower price compared to the Serta 3 inch and 4 inch memory foam mattress toppers.  Also, because I had no idea if I would like it or if it would even work for me at all.  It came rolled up in the shipping box.  The instructions said to unroll it and let it lay flat for 24 hours to air out before putting it on the mattress.  So, I put it on the futon in my den for 24 hours.  Let me tell you, it has this horrible chemical smell when it's first opened.  The whole room stunk for days after.  After 48 hrs (an extra day to air out) I put it on my mattress and then put my sheets over it.  For the first few days I could still get some of the smell through the sheets but then it went away.  As far as the memory foam mattress topper itself, I love it!  I layed on it and it supports your entire body.  It's not so soft you sink into it, but it's not too firm either.  Sometimes I have lower back pain when I wake up, but honestly this helped so much that I rarely have back pain when I wake up now.  It is just so comfortable and it's the best sleep i've ever had.  Just to note, this does make your mattress 2 inches taller, so you need to get deep fitting sheets or the corners will keep popping off.

*Last month I just had a major birthday, my 50th. Along with the number, come the aches and pains. I had been having trouble sleeping, getting comfortable. I decided to try a memory foam mattress topper. It wasnt going to cost that much, and my mattress is fairly new and didnt want to buy a whole new bed. So I got the memory foam topper. It was very easy to put on, just open the box, unfold and poof, it enlarges. My very first night I slept like a baby. I thought maybe that was because it was a change*, but the next nights I slept just as well. In fact I have been oversleeping, because I am not waking up in pain. I reccommend this for anyone, it feels like your sleeping on a cloud.

This made a huge difference in my being able to sleep for more than 5 or 6 hours at a time. Back pain was minimized and I was able to go into a deeper sleep. I thought I was going to have to get a new bed (which I couldn't really afford right now) but with this product and Mattress RX, I was able to take care of the problem.  I am writing a review on Mattress RX next.
