Sephora Mineral Double Compact Foundation —

My absolute favorite foundation is the Mineral Fusion Pressed Base which is a pressed mineral powder foundation.  It is a little expensive since I don't get my Whole Foods Market discount anymore, so instead of forking out the $39.00, I decided to see what else I could find that is all natural and not made with talc.

I bought the Sephora Mineral Double Compact Foundation because it was reasonably priced for a natural, mineral powder foundation ($22.00) and because Sephora offers free returns if you are not happy with your purchase.

After not selecting the correct color on my first order, I sent it back to Sephora.com and chose a different color which is not exactly what I want, but as close as it's going to get.  The Sephora Mineral Double Compact Foundation is a mineral-based pressed powder foundation that contains SPF 10.  The feeling of it on my skin is light and airy, I can't even tell it is on.  In my opinion, it provides coverage of 6 on a scale of 1-10.  The coverage is buildable though, so you can reapply for more coverage.  The compact has two compartments; the upper compartment has the pressed foundation with a mirror on the top and the lower compartment holds the applicator.  The disc applicator has two sides; the white side is for light coverage and the black side is for full coverage.  I don't care for the applicator, so I use my own kabuki brush.  Besides the applicator, the only thing I don't like about this product is that Sephora doesn't have the perfect color for me.  The color I chose is close enough, but it could be better.  My Mineral Fusion Pressed Base offers a color that is the perfect color for me, so it is disappointing to not find one with Sephora.

Sephora Mineral Double Compact Foundation is:

  • Talc-free
  • Oil-free
  • Paraben-free
  • Fragrance-free

The Scoop!

I like this mineral foundation and will continue to buy it, but I am still on my quest for a natural, mineral-based, pressed powder foundation that matches my skin and is reasonably priced.  I'm sure I'm dreaming, but it's out there somewhere.

There are cheaper ones out there, but they aren't natural. Let me kknow if you find a good one!

I'll tell ya, I need something like this. $ 22.00 is pricey though! OUCH.

This sounds really interesting. On a different tack, the guy came and replaced my modem today! (No charge!) So far, so good!
