This pressed foundation gives excellent coverage!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

My absolute favorite foundation is the Mineral Fusion Pressed Base which is a pressed mineral powder foundation.  It is a little expensive since I don't get my Whole Foods Market discount anymore, so instead of forking out the $39.00, I decided to see what else I could find that is all natural and not made with talc.

I bought the Sephora **Mineral Double Compact Foundation **because it was reasonably priced for a natural, mineral powder foundation ($22.00) and because Sephora offers free returns if you are not happy with your purchase.

After not selecting the correct color on my first order, I sent it back to Sephora.com and chose a different color which is not exactly what I want, but as close as it's going to get.  The *Sephora Mineral Double Compact Foundation **is a mineral-based pressed powder foundation that contains SPF 10.  The feeling of it on my skin is light and airy, I can't even tell it is on.  In my opinion, it provides coverage of 6 on a scale of 1-10.  The coverage is buildable though, so you can reapply for more coverage.  The compact has two compartments; the upper compartment has the pressed foundation with a mirror on the top and the lower compartment holds the applicator.  The disc applicator has two sides; the white side is for light coverage and the black side is for full coverage.  I don't care for the applicator, so I use my own kabuki brush.  Besides the applicator, the only thing I don't like about this product is that Sephora doesn't have the perfect color for me.  The color I chose is close enough, but it could be better.  My Mineral Fusion Pressed Base offers a color that is the **perfect ***color for me, so it is disappointing to not find one with Sephora.

Sephora Mineral Double Compact Foundation is:

  • Talc-free
  • Oil-free
  • Paraben-free
  • Fragrance-free

The Scoop!

I like this mineral foundation and will continue to buy it, but I am still on my quest for a natural, mineral-based, pressed powder foundation that matches my skin *and *is reasonably priced.  I'm sure I'm dreaming, but it's out there somewhere.
