I tried the SentryPro XFC on my dachshund and within 2 hours he was twitching and constantly licking at the air. I knew something was wrong when he could not sit still even on my lap at the computer which he loves. I called the emergency number and was told to wash him with DAWN dishwashing liquid. I washed him twice but some of it had absorbed into his skin which caused him to jump up like something was after him and take off running and scratching constantly. within 4 hours after using this stuff he started dry heaving, scratching, running fever, and I'd find him lying in puddles of slobber.I was up all night watching him and the next morning I began having nose bleeds and a bad headache. My daughter also woke with a headache. I took 3 days and a trip to the vet for my lil man to start feeling like himself again. I hate that I have read of so many people having the same or similar problems with this porduct, and yet here's the same well know pet store that claim to "LOVE YOU PETS" stocking ttheir shelves with this stuff still. PLEASE!!! Invest alittle more now in frontline now to save more money and heartache later.

I just experienced similar results. This stuff is POISON! I wish I'd looked it up before I administered it to my bichon, Nissa last night. Within an hour she was not herself. I immediately bathed her. It was a rough night and this morning the symptoms seem to be slowly improving. I don't understand how this product is still on the market after researching and finding soooooo.....many adverse reaction testimonials.
What is Sargeant's thinking!?!
People beware!!! DO NOT use SentryPro XFC!!!

I just got back from the vet because of my 1yr old Husky had an allergic reaction to this stuff. I applied it over the weekend and about 2 days later i noticed some clumping on her fur, and she was continuously scratching, at the time I did not think anything about it. a few more days went by and I started to notice that she was becoming bald in the spot that I had applied it to. It also smelled really bad. I kept washing it to try and make it clean, as much as the poor little girl would let me.. She was obviously in pain.

Today I took her to see the vet and they shaved the surrounding area, and gave me a stack of meds to help her..

But all that i can say is NEVER GIVE THIS CRAP TO YOUR PET! I should have gone with frontline like I usually do.. whatever is in this stuff is just evil and should be removed from shelves.

Its interesting to read up on all of these comments made by people. It is 3:44AM and my little pugger is just starting to fall asleep. My wife put this stuff on her at about 7:30pm and when we started to go to bed at 10:00 pm she was scratching alot. We put her in her crate as we do for bed but lately she had been sleeping in bed with us. I said to my wife maybe she is getting spoiled and wants to sleep in bed. We let her out of the crate and she was whining the whole time. She comes up on the bed and is scratching constantly and like turning her head to attack something to her left. She also was drinking alot and then doing the backwords sneezing that pugs do sometimes. She will not calm down and I am worried so my wife and I decided to wash her with soap and then her shampoo, still no luck. I decided to finally take her to the Emergency Vet and 75 bucks later, they tell me that this is a reaction to this horrible product. The vet talked to their helpline and said I should put Vitamin E where it is itching her. The vet said to wash her with dish soap and to give her a benadryl so maybe she calm down and get some sleep(as well as myself). She was still going crazy for awhile after we got home, but she is sleeping on the couch right now so hopefully I can take her upstairs to her crate and we can all go to bed. Now I have to take a day off from work tomorrow since there is no way I can go to work after 2 hours of sleep or less. Someone needs to be held responsible. I guess my wife and I learned a lesson to do some mroe research before we buy a product for our dogs. I never used frontline, but no one has ever had any problems with that product. It is now 3:52 AM and hopefully I will be able to get some sleep.

i have two tea cup dogs. one is a 2 years old tea cup yorkie and the other is a 8 years old chi hua hua. we have some random cats in the neighbor hood that are infested with fleas. As a precaution we went to our local pet store and bought Sentry Pro XFC, we had never bought a flea prevention for our dogs and one of the sales associates recommended it. i regret the day i decided to even walk into that store.

we got home and applied Sentry Pro XFC to our dogs within half and hour Chico our chihuahua was crying and running around as if he was on fire. He could not stop moving crying and kicking his legs. and then Coco my yorkie started doing the same. i called the hotline and they told me to shower them with dish soap and rub Vitamin E-oil on there skins. they were very polite and friendly. of course they were they knew exactly what was happening to my dogs. The operator told me that they had an overdose. I seriously washed them more that 15 times crying my eyes out because they were in so much pain. it was 8 at night and my vet was not open. After 2 hours of rubbing and putting cold towels on them as directed by the Sentry Pro XFC customer service agent, i took them both to the emergency vet.

i almost lost my dogs. they both had to be ditoxed, the chihuahua recieved 8 shots becuase it even affected his liver, my poor yorkie was given antibiotics and steroids to stop the inflamation. it was truly horrible.

600 dollars and 2 hours of sleep later they are all druged up AND have permanent nerve damage. this should not happen to no animal. please do not put this on your dogs this product needs to be taken off the market. and if you read this too late take them as soon as possible to a vet.

i am not staying with my arms crossed someone is going to take responsibility for this.

please feel free to contact me if you need help

Sergeant's Gold and SentryPro XFC "Allergic" Reaction and Deaths happen Daily see the below news report and websites with all the fellow Sergeant Reaction sufferers.

Been through it with two Pugs, it was like watching them die for three days straight. This is not a allergic reaction.

There is something wrong with their Sergeant Products and instead of taking it off the shelves the continue to make Pet Parents like You and I watch our pet children suffer. Sergeant's Gold is a Poison

Well, our story isn't much different than that of BuckysMommy. An hour after dosing our two dogs one was acting very bizarre--staring at nothing, leaping around, rolling and growling, chewing and scratching herself, etc. By midnight it was clear that we needed to take some actions. We washed her thoroughly. She at least was then able to sleep and appears better today, but still acting strangely. Now we take her to the vet.

No more Sentry products for us. Frontline posed no problems for our pets. We just ran out and bought some Sentry at the pet store. Bad idea! My next step is to write the company and let them know my concerns about their product. I hope others with similar experiences wiill do the same.

I bought this at Petsmart a couple of weeks ago. I fell into it because of the cost factor as compared to Frontline. My dog, Burger, is due for his application on the 10th of the month. I just read your review and will be bringing this back to the store today! I'm so sorry you and Bucky had to go through this.

Thanks for the heads up. I would send this review to the company or do a www.planetfeedback.com complaint. Jo

In response to lilsquibb's comment from Jul 26, 2008 at 12:31PM:

I'm so glad I was able to warn you before you bought it thinking you were doing something good for your pet out of love. I actually thought of making flyers to hand out around Petco. Figured if they wouldn't warn people of the side effects I would.

lilsquibb wrote on Jul 26, 2008 at 12:31PM

thanks for the info... we haven't bought flea stuff in quite a while (but probably should) I'll be sure to avoid this stuff.
