Sensory Friendly Films Review

The Sensory Friendly Films put together by the Autism Society of America are really amazing and allow the community of people with mostly Autism but other sensory-sensitive disorders to be able to finally come into a theatre and enjoy the company without having to leave because of neuro-typicals who can't handle different behaviors and just even being able to be in a theatre.  The lights aren't as dark, the sounds aren't as loud, you can get up and move around, its a chance to meet other families with Autism at the same time and a great source of entertainment in an Autism  and sensory sensitive friendly setting.  We can now go to movies more often when they do occur, since the concept is new.  The only thing is that it is at one time only in every state and on one date a month, but they are working on expanding that due to the involvment and appreciation this concept has had on this growing community.  Now a person can enjoy the movie, move around for vestibular needs and even get excited verbally and usually it all works out just great!  I would highly recommend people checking out their nearby movie theatres (at most theatres nationwide!) and looking on the ASA's website to get up to date information for the movies.  The films are also very clean and they are choosing ones that will be better for those individuals and families; good family movies!  Thank God for Sensory Friendly Films - Its been a long time coming :-D  PS: Service dogs very welcome and the staff very adaptable and ready to adjust things for the audience at any time!
