It cleans teeth like other toothpastes, but it smells bad! I don't wanna buy it again because of the terrible smell!

I don't understand how this can be advertised to ease sensitive teeth. This did not help mine at all. I used it for several months. I then made my own homemade toothpaste as a last resort, forcing myself to use it exclusively, and after about 6 weeks of using it, the sensitivity eased that i had been suffering with for over 4 months. Maybe my case was worse but since it didn't help mine at all, I have to score at 1.

I have the most terrible teeth ever. I have had root canals, extractions and tons of dental work done. My dentist got me to start trying Sensodyne Extra Whitening toothpaste. My teeth are so sensitive and this seemed to really work. I brush twice a day with this toothpaste and I can now eat hot and cold foods without it hurting so much. I would reccommend this to anyone that has sensitive teeth.

I have very sensitive teeth and was looking to maybe get whiter teeth in the process. I started to use sensodyne because of the commercials that i had seen. As i started using it i expected really good results but it did not exactly worked the way that i had expected. My teeth are still very sensitive. I will still be looking for other toothpastes that might work and will keep it posted.

I needed to find a great toothpaste for extremely sensitive teeth. I have tried many other brands without much relief and found that the Sensodyne Extra Whitening toothpaste worked very well. It leaves your mouth feeling extra clean. I would recommend this toothpaste to people with sensitive teeth.

I had a whole lot of toothpaste at home, and I had just finished one tube, so I grabbed a random one and it happened to be Sensodyne Extra Whitening Toothpaste, which I haven't tried before. I thought whitening was good, but my expectations weren't met as the results seemed similar to the other toothpastes I used (I observed this after a few weeks, not just one use). Also, it didn't create much foam, so it was difficult to spread it all around my teeth, which I didn't appreciate so much. Also this toothpaste had the worst aftertaste ever! I don't know what it tasted like, because it wasn't minty like most toothpastes. Some toothpastes have special tastes, like the ones for kids, but this one, I couldn't describe, but it was disgusting! I always thought toothpaste was supposed to leave your mouth feeling clean and refreshed, but this certainly didn't do that but left my mouth some disgusting taste that I had to rinse out with some mouth rinse. I do not recommend it.

I switched from a non-whitening Sensodyne to this one hoping that it would both make my teeth whiter and decrease sensitivity. In less than two weeks, my teeth were so sensitive again that I stopped brushing until I could go out and purchase different toothpaste. As soon as I stopped brushing, the sensitivity decreased to a more manageable level. I did not notice my teeth getting any whiter either, though it was a short period of time that I used the product given the extra sensitivity it created. I had hoped that I could have my cake and eat it too - sensitivity protection and whitening together - but it did not work for me. In fact, that it was worse using Sensodyne with Whitening than not brushing at all into question their commitment to sensitivity reduction for me and made me wonder if some other sensitivity brands aren't worth trying.

I thought I had a cavity or some other problem because every time I drank cold water or a hot cup of tea, I had a shooting pain in my teeth. I began to drink only through a straw it was so painful. Finally, I headed to the dentist, braced for bad (and expensive!!) news. To my surprise, he said I had no cavities, but clearly had some sensitivity issues. My dentist didn't seem to think it was that serious and that I might get adequate relief from an over the counter product like Sensodyne. I was pretty happy with that, and immediately went out and purchased a tube. (I chose the whitening version because I have been drinking LOTS of tea lately and thought I would be able to kill two birds with one stone!) I also had a coupon, which mitigated some of the higher cost of a sensitive tooth toothpaste The taste was pleasant enough, and left my mouth feeling clean enough, but I didn't notice any difference in either my sensitivity or the level of whiteness. I knew it could take a while to build up the benefits, so I committed to using the toothpaste for a month, twice per day. I noticed virtually no change AT ALL in the level of whiteness. I guess I don't have whatever stain problem that Sensodyne is supposed to solve. Given that the toothpaste is SUPPOSED to whiten teeth, this was obviously disappointing. As for the pain/sensitivity issue, that was a little more complicated. Sometimes I thought it seemed better, and was very encouraged. Other times, it was the same as always. Because it was so hit and miss, I don't know whether I saw any actual benefit from the toothpaste, or whether I have just learned to drink in a way that keeps liquids away from my teeth. To be honest, I really haven't been able to figure out which is accurate. The end result is that I would use the toothpaste as a toothpaste, and just hope that I was getting at least some of the stated benefits. But if there was another product that made the same claims, I would move in a heartbeat. It just didn't work for me. :( Update: I actually now DON'T use the toothpaste. If you think you might be safe, and you drink hot or cold liquid expecting protection, but don't get it, you are going to HURT! I found myself not trusting any relief, and still drinking through a straw or only having room temp drinks, so, really, there was absolutely no benefit to buying this more expensive toothpaste. I will try something else, though. . .sensitive teeth are the pits.

I've used the toothpaste for over 18 months. I used to have bleeding gums for a while after brushing. The overly sensitive gums stopped less than 2 days after I started using this and I've never gone back to other brands. It also makes my teeth white without the use of additional teeth whiteners.
