These headphones are amazing! I received them as a present for my birthday, and plugged them into my digital piano late that night. I started playing and at first thought they weren't plugged in, the sound was so clear! My piano honestly sounds better playing with these headphones on than it does without! Every note is crystal clear, with extremely high quality in all ranges. They fit quite comfortably; I've read some reviews in which people have complained about the band fit being too tight, however, I have a slightly larger than average head, and the size feels just fine. The ear cups are a bit small, but not enough to make it irritating or uncomfortable. However, if you're looking for headphones that eliminate any background noise, these probably wouldn't be satisfactory. I am still able to hear people talking even while playing, but they do a good enough job of minimizing the background noise and maximizing what I'm listening to that it's not enough of an issue to get different ones.

My new office building is very quiet, and by that I mean the building. With very little background noise you can hear every little thing your co-workers are doing or saying. To keep my focus, keep from eavesdropping, and my sanity intact I needed headphones. I purchased a few other pairs first and they were poor quality or hurt after wearing them for a few hours. The HD 428 Sennheiser helps block out noise because it is over the ear, has a nice sound quality, a long cord so you can move around, and is comfortable to wear for hours at a time. Sold! I've had it for over a year by this point and it still works fine.

I've owned plenty of headphones going all over the price range, and these are great for people on a budget. The sound quality is good for the price, and I use them anytime I need to plug in a second pair of headphones to show someone else a video. The cord length is ok since I don't sit very far from my computer anyways. Overall, good headphones!

These are a definite upgrade from the 201's. Better sounding tones and bass. A lot of people never even heard of the brand name but you should! The stereo sound that is being reproduced by the headphones is very detailed in nature. You will be able to experience audio tracks with enhanced levels of clarity and precision. The high quality audio is reproduced because of the high quality of materials that are used for constructing the Sennheiser headphones. The audiophiles among us might be already aware of this fact - the better the materials used for the construction of the headphone, the better will be the audio being reproduced by the same! Go ahead and treat yourself! They are great for the price...

I need a pair of cheap headphones and when I went looking for one, I immediately searched for Sennheiser headphones cause I knew they offered the best quality and realibility even in their lower end models. When I tried it, my expectations were not let down. These headphones are extremely cheap for the quality of sound that they offer. I've been using them for almost 5 months and they're doing great. I can listen to my songs without flaw and they actually sound great. The volume on these headphones can go pretty high, even though I never listen to my music extremely loud. The comfort is pretty good, I can wear them for a couple horus and not have any pain or discomfort.

Sennheiser - HD 202 are a very good pair of headphones for a very affordable price,and worth every penny.They are very light,and because of simple construction are much more durable then you would expect.These have a 10 foot cord which is awesome for at home use,but not so much for portable use,but Sennheiser does include a sort of a spool to wrap the extra length when you don't need it.The headband clamps the ears quite a bit and people with big heads may not find these comfortable when wearing  for prolonged periods of time,on the other hand they stay on your head even if you are rocking out,or just moving a lot,like when gaming.These are very bassy headphones ,if you are in that sort if thing,but the downside is the bass is quite overpowering and the sound quality can get a bit muddy at times,however make no mistake that they sound every bit good for a headphone in the price range,it's just if you are not a bass head,you might want to look somewhere else. I would certainly recommend these to a friend.

I've had these over a year now, and recently bought another pair as a gift for my father. The sound quality is very good. They look very durable and in fact are. I've had a number of other headphones which would start falling apart within a month or two. Nothing has gone wrong with these in all the time I've owned them. The cord is very long, but I kind of like that. I can hook them up to the PC and walk around with them on. There are a few cons though. The biggest one for me is that after a while I start to get a headache in them. I'm not sure why that happens, either because they block all outside sounds or because they're a little tight on the ears (though, I haven't noticed it). Another two minor things is that there is no volume control on the headphones or on the cord, so all volume needs to be controlled via the pc or whatever other device you hook it up to. Also it would be nice if there was an audio to usb adapter that came with them. That way it'd be easier to control when the sound should go to the headphones or to the speakers.

I own a couple of pairs of headphones for different purposes, the Sennheiser HD202 is for listening with my iPod. I'm living in a city where people are addicted to mobile-phone chatting in the public. The headphones' ability of providing isolation from the outside annoyance is of utmost importance when I consider purchasing a pair of headphones for traveling purpose. The HD202, sealed in design, excels in that functionality. Most noises are decently blocked away from my listening pleasure. The HD202 are mid-sized, and I don't find portability a burden. The headphones are circum-aural for my average-sized ears, which contributes a lot to the good isolation. The pleather ear-pads and cushion under the head-band are comfy, no complaints for extended wearing for me.Sound-wise, I found the HD202 performing unexpectedly well for headphones at this price range. It could be driven by the iPod with ease. Judging by listening, I found the HD202's frequency response even and flat, with a little emphasis on the low end. The overall timber is on the dry side. Bass-heads might found its bass less then head-bombing, but it's just adequate for me, allowing mids and highs passing through to paint a balanced sound profile. Since the HD202 is a sealed-type design, the mids are not as open and airy as its open counterparts. Details are of cuz not as good as my Sennheiser HD600, but it's totally acceptable for a pair of traveling cans. The Grado SR-60 has more details, but its highs are, surprisingly, more harsh than the HD202, and it just fails to block any noise from outside. My listening spectrum is broad, ranging from classical, operas, chansons francaises, jazz, old rock, psychedelic, indies, metal to trip hop. Although not perfect (what could be anyway?), the HD202 performs satisfactorily in every genre I have tried through it, and favors music with heavy beats like Portishead and Morcheeba. It also sounds good with Doors, Cream, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. It's best for dance, pop and rock. For classical-fans, the HD202 could also bring smile on your face. It's not the smoothest phones in the world, but its shortcomings (a bit dry and inability to retrieve full details) are forgivable and it could let you forget hi-fi and concentrate on musical nirvana. Gieseking's Debussy piano works from his 78r/m era are just magical, and the pluckings of the double-bass in Munch's "Symphonie Fantastique" are tangible and rich. The HD202 also "Rings", forgive my puns, well with Wagner. The Bayreuth acoustics are altered, yet remains beautiful, through the HD202. I enjoy every bow across the strings and the "Ho-jo-to-ho!" by the Walkures. For jazz, both vocals (Lady Day) and instrumentals (Monk and Coltrane) swing. For durability, the HD202 doesn't score too high. The left-side cord of my headphones has developed bad contact after 2 years' service. Since the cords are non-detachable, the ailment could not be remedied. I thought of buying a new set of HD202 but was bitten by the up-grade bug and bought a HD212pro instead. And boy what wrong I have done and feel regreted for my conversion. The HD212 might have deeper bass, but it doesn't come close to the HD202 regarding naturalness which I place high regarding music listening. It has TOO MUCH bass for my taste. Sounds are richer but somewhat artificial in the 212. I much prefer the 202 to the bass-exaggerated, unnatural and over-rated 212pro. For listeners not obsessed with bass-fetishism and hi-fi-similacrum who want to enjoy music on the road, Sennheiser HD202 is highly recommended.

I had bought this from amazon to replace an older, traditional type that was bulkier (and falling to pieces from too frequent use.) An immediate difference I noticed was: for the weighty burden imposed on your ears by the bulkier product, in return you got a more seamless cocoon or enclosure for your ears. So if you intend to experience DTS or any high-definition sound without bothering those around you, the bulkier product actually gave a more true to life aural experience. So with a less pristine experience relaying the sound, Sennheiser HD202 Consumer Headphone is still a marked improvement over the bulkier product, in that your head doesn't feel strapped in (even if it's to experience higher quality sound.) It's slim, sleek, much lighter and even flattering should you catch your own reflection in the mirror while wearing the piece. The cord is a little too long for my taste, but over time I do appreciate it giving me less strain on the neck. Still, it is comfortable to wear at the price of decreased sound quality.

These headphones are great if you are on a budget and cannot afford something like the hd280s or hd555s. They sound pretty good and overall have a good feeling with it, but there are some faults too. These headphones are closed, so they offer great sound with no leaks, but after a few hours these can really kill your ears. After taking them off after a couple hours my ears kill and if I decide to touch them for some reason I feel tremendous pain. So if you plan on using these for long periods at a time, please make sure you take a five or ten minute break in between. For only twenty bucks you really can not go wrong though, sure it may hurt after a while but it does feel great for the first few hours. The sound is really crisp and clear compared to other headphones in this price range. Actually I think these are the best headphones you can get without spending too much, but if you do decide to spend more make sure it is sennheiser.
