If you are listening to MP3s encoded at 64 Kbps, the reality is the headphones aren't going to make that much of a difference. However, if you are picky about your music, listening to faily non-compressed MP3s, CDs, or records (like, on vinyl), headphones can make a huge impact. These headphones are ideal for keeping sound levels just where you want them...in your own ears and not for the world to hear.  It blocks out sound efficiently. I would much prefer these headphones to smaller ones that usually irritate the ears.
