Most HelpfulAfter 8 years of marriage on the same mattress, we upgraded to a Select Comfort 5000 queen model. The dual control system allows my wife and I to both set our mattress to the comfort of our personal desire. I have neck and back problems and this bed has made a world of difference-together with a better-than-cheap...

Sleep Number Bed Testimonial
I purchased a queen size sleep number bed, Personal Preference 4PT in January 2003 from Sleep Train Mattress Centers in the east bay of San Francisco, CA.
I was experiencing back pain and soreness and stiffness in the morning. I paid $1,980.00 for the bed which was...
read full review »For about the same price as a regular bed, the Sleep Number really stands out. It arrived in 5 boxes and we put it together ourselves in about an hour. Finding the soft/firm level that suits you best has the bonus feature of being adjustable for the nights when you may need more support after a long day or even soften it up for a snuggly night's sleep. Sometimes I even change it in the middle of the night so that I can lie on my back comfortably which used to be hard to adjust to with a regular bed.
The only flaw we found is the gap between the two sections which was easily fixed with a tighly...
read full review »We had a Select Comfort Sleep Number bed for 11 years. The bed was comfortable at first but after 2 1/2 yrs the cheap foam and padding wore out. No problem, 20 year warranty, yes! No! 2 yr full warranty, 18 yr prorated warranty. Shame on us for not reading the fine print at time of purchase. Select Comfort wanted a RIDICULOUS amount of money to replace the foam and padding.
You do get a hammock affect if you have a sleep partner. For couples who like to snuggle, not the bed for you. Once the cheap foam wears out, the dips and trenches get even worse.
The only good thing I can say is that...
read full review »We got our Select Comfort Sleep Number Bed 5000 in 2004, when it was basically the top of the line. We had been sleeping on a full-size regular pillowtop matress for years. After much research, we decided on the queen-size with a Deluxe Sleep Number Firmness Control System. We have been and are very happy with it. My sleep number has gone up and down in the years. It's great to have a bed that can adjust to you! Sometimes I have gone up or down 10 numbers in one day.
My husband also loves it. My pets love it. Visiting relatives take it over. You get the picture. The warranty is a plus also. We...
read full review »My husband and I have different ideas on what a comfortable bed should be. Personally I love my old mattress, it's firm with a pillow top. He prefers something softer. So we figured the sleep number bed would be great for us...WRONG!!!!
The best way to describe what it's like and even give you a chance to try it out for much less is to sleep on an air mattress (you know, the ones you sleep on while camping!) the more you spend the more padding you get to put on top of the air mattress so to test this out add lots of foam and fluffy blankets to see if it helps. However when we first called in to...
read full review »I am so dissapointed with this sleep number 5000 pillowtop bed. I bought it in June of 2005 and within the first two years I noticed ripping on the foam pad and also when I lifted up the pillowtop it is also ripping and sagging. I am always rolling to the center of the bed, thats a flaw right there!!! Very poorly constructed, I slept better on a $50.00 air bed.I will be writing a letter to the CEO of the company in Minneapolis, MN. I hope everyone that reads this review and also had problems with the ripping of the pad and pillowtop will also send a letter to the CEO.
I have had my Select Comfort Bed for 7 yrs. I love it! It really is the best night sleep you have ever had. You can replace parts as you need to and not the entire bed. There is a 20 yr guarentee on the bed, so the pro rate it and you pay for only part of the replacement parts as needed. It is amazing. You think that sleeping in a hammack is for you, choose this bed. YOu can make is a comfy as a hammack.
I love a super soft mattress and my husband prefers hard as a rock mattress. This mattress suits both of our needs. Neither I nor my husband have ever slept this good. Even our cats love it.
The tech support is very helpful as well.
Highly recommend!
