In 2004 my wife and I made the decision to invest in a Select Comfort bed. The salesperson suggested it would help alleviate my back pains. Since then I have developped additional back pains, and now I am suffering from shoulder pain as well. I was also sold into purchasing the electrically adjustable bed frame (possibly the best part of the purchase)
I was told to give it several months before I would adjust to the comfort... Well it has not happened yet in the 4 years we've owned it.
The fabric shell which encloses the mattress components (foam rails, inflatable mattress, tubes, etc.) has stretched to point where the edges have now flattened. We are forced to sleep towards the center of the bed. I have once replaced the side bumper guard. This has not solved the problem. It lacks the strength that you find in a standard mattress, which also gives you and the freedom to move around and position yourself in any manner you desire. There is actually less intimacy with this bed (I guess it is fine if you are going thru a divorce)
We definitely regret having purchase this mattress system. Maybe a king size bed would have done the trick.
