Select Comfort Sleep Number Bed 3000 —

I have the Select Comfort Sleep Number 3000 bed, and I hate this bed. The commercial shows a couple lying in bed sleeping so soundly with each of them having their own sleep number. Absolute comfort right??? Well apparently that only happens if you and your bed mate have almost the exact number because my husband and I are drastically different he sets his bed to approx. 50 (out of 100, 0 being almost no air and 100 being so rock hard you couldnt possibly sleep on it) and I set my side to 25 doesnt seem to be much of a difference number wise, until you get into the bed and my side of the bed is like a hammock (very very comfortable for me) and his is very solid. There is a very firm foam piece that seperates the two halves of the bed and there is hardly enough room to even roll over so typically we get into the bed and he rolls right over onto me. Forget any "fun" in bed because you cant lie in the center of the bed unless you want a hard foam piece running down the middle of your back. Also this bed is so squeaky you cant roll over without it waking your parter up. Nevermind have any "fun" discretely. To tell the god honest truth we moved a pull out couch into our bed room and he now sleeps on this because he is so uncomfortable in this bed. Based on the price of it we really cant afford to go out and purchase a new bed for us. HATE HATE HATE this bed.

I agree completely! My husband and I had a king size and loved it. When we moved to a smaller house/smaller bedroom, we traded it in for a queen size. Got it at the Select Comfort outlet/via mail. I'd never recommend that! You cannot return the bed when you purchase it this way. Everything the above poster says is true. There is no comfortable way to "snuggle" b/c the foam piece that runs the length of the bed between the air chambers keeps you on your side! Really awkward and uncomfortable.
We dislike it so much we are getting rid of it, and now here I am reading reviews on other mattresses!
I DID like my king size select comfort. Somehow, that one didn't have any of the same problems this one did. No one at SC can explain why.
Very frustrating.

This just sounds aweful and I'm glad I found your post. My husband and I also bought the Sleep Number 3000. Like your situation my husband's number is low and mine is high. My husband kept saying his back was hurting and that he felt like he was laying in a hammock. We went back to the store and talked to our sales person, she took us to the bed we bought and we went through the part to find a Sleep Number again. What we learned was that my husband was setting his side way to low and that is why his back was hurting and he felt like the bed was a hammock. I was setting my side too high. Since we have adjusted to the right places for each of us we have slept amazing well. I wouldn't trade this bed for anything in the world. Maybe try talking to the sales person and having them help you. Good Luck

Hello, my name is Kristin. I work for Select Comfort in the Customer Serivce Department. I am so sorry to hear about the issue you are having with the center of your bed. The good news is this actually has an easy solution to get you back to having the best night's sleep you can. We have something called a chamber lift. The chamber lift is designed especially for this situation. It goes under the air chamber that is lower to give it a "lift" by approximately 1 inch. This is a no charge solution, you can get the chamber lift by either calling us at 1-800-472-7185 or e-mailing into customerservice@selectcomfort.com with your preferred settings, the heights and weights of each person and your preferred UPS Ground shipping address. We look forward to hearing from you, and getting you back to comfortable in your bed.

Sleep Well,
Kristin Prahl
