We bought this bed about 3 years ago.  My only regret about it is that we didn't buy it when I was pregnant.  It would've been a Godsend then.

A couple of caveats:

As another reviewer mentioned, there is a piece of foam separating both sides of the bed.  Along with the fact that both my husband and I end up with a hammock like concavity in our sides of the bed, this higher lump of foam makes cuddling impossible.  One thing we did do was invest in a 2 inch memory foam mattress topper for about $150 (Costco) and that seems to have smoothed out that feeling of the center lump somewhat.  I imagine upgrading to the Sleep Number mattresses that have the memory foam topper on them to begin with eliminates the need for this, but even with paying $150 for the topper, we still saved a substantial amount of $$ buying the 3000 model vs. the higher priced models with the memory foam.  Still, to really cuddle, I need to raise my sleep number so that I have a firmer (and higher) surface to lay on.....which means then readjusting later when I need to go to sleep.

As for it being difficult to have "fun".....we've had no issues with the bed being squeaky.  And while it's not the most spontaneous thing in the world, you can always increase your sleep number to give you a firmer surface before the "fun" begins.

It's not that noisy in my opinion when inflating.  And besides, if you get it to where you want it, it's not like you're inflating it constantly.  We usually leave ours as is most of the time.

 As for the Pluses:

I have painful pressure points in my hips and shoulders on most traditional mattresses.  These are eliminated when I sleep on my sleep number.  I occasionally sleep in our spare twin bed when my husband snores and I wake up constantly having to move b/c my hip and shoulder bones feel like they're going to poke through my skin.

B/c there are no springs, and since we are in a Queen and have separate sleep surfaces, my husbands movements in the middle of the night  don't bounce me around like they would on a regular mattress.

It's just REALLY comfortable.  I have a hard time sleeping in any other bed now.  Funny thing is I always thought I preferred a firm bed.  Soft traditional mattresses are too bouncy and springy and I found them really uncomfortable and unsupportive.  But I sleep on a 25-30 on my Sleep number and am so comfortable.  I think b/c it conforms to my body and b/c it supports and isn't bouncy and springy.

LOVE it!  No regrets.  And we didn't pay much more for it than a high quality traditional mattress, not to mention, there are no springs to wear out and the warranty is MUCH longer than any traditional mattress we've seen.

 Highly recommend it!
