Select Comfort Air Bed Review

We bought the select comfort several years after trying it out in a mall store.  It's a lot of money to spend and we wanted to be sure it would be a good investment.  After my husband had surgery it was time to get it.  We were told delivery would be 2 weeks, but it arrived in 4 days.  It came in 3 boxes that we had to put together.  My 'not really a handyman' husband, being only 3 weeks out of major abdominal surgery thought he could put it together...and he did.  He is still bragging about the great directions making it simple to do.  It fit right on top of our box springs helping that we didn't have to buy that also.

There are 2 chambers in the bed making it adjustable for each of us.  Our numbers are closer together than we thought but being able to chose the right one for each of us has made the difference in our sleep.  Our first couple of nights both of us woke up with aches and pains as normal.  They told us that would happen as our bodies adjusted to the sleeping on air feeling. It was almost like sleeping in a hammock.   I was skeptical after after the first couple of days,  however, now I wake up feeling great each morning, and I really do sleep longer each night.  Most of the time I sleep on the same setting every night, but I have adjusted it during the night 10 points. 

We bought the 5000 model at $1599.00, the middle line and would recommend it over the lower models.  Although you won't be adjusting it all the time, it is much quieter than the lower models when filling and releasing air.  The only thing I don't like is the clicking it makes when it is releasing air and even that isn't really loud.  You do have to be on the bed to get the right number when the air is released.  In the beginning I filled it back up each morning and let it out again at night, but now just throw the covers over the top and let it go. 

We upgraded from a space age memory foam mattress that only lasted about 6 months.  I don't regret the money spent as this really is the best sleep we have ever gotten.  The 30 day money back guarentee was the final selling feature, but it took only a week to know we would never be sending this bed back.  I recommend it to everyone who is interested in sleeping sound all night long.
