Sears.com Review Summary

Sears is known as the place America shops, and it has been operating its Sears.com web site for many years now as a supplement to the physical location stores. Customers like the fact that they can shop at Sears.com and, if an item has to be returned, they can take it to an actual Sears location for a refund or credit. Reviewers also like the low clothing prices and the generally good quality offered by Sears.com, but they do not like the customer service and slow delivery. “Good Price, Great Quality” is how one reviewer sums up the experience, while another reviewer says “I Would Avoid Sears at All Cost”. These contrasting viewpoints and others like them rank Sears.com as an average Shopping Web Sites overall.

I love this program. I have been able to take back 3 pairs of pants that my son has put holes in the knees and everytime Sears has been great. They ask no questions and ring up the jeans with no problems. As long as you get the same size and brand there is absolutely no problems. Plus this doesn't... review »

Late at night, on Sunday, October 28, 2007, I shopped on Sears for some kitchen items.  The kitchen in our new house was nice, but it was lacking in counter-space.  I am not sure what made me check out Sears because I didn't even know if they sold this type of product.  I trust stores that have physical...

SEARS is the perfect store to purchase your appliances.  My Aunt Betty has purchased all of her applicances from SEARS for years, and she swares by them.  They also offer insurance on the appliances, so If something should go wrong with any of their products SEARS will come out to fix them for you.

Quick View: Sears.com is an average site that is big enough to have much better customer service. I had two bad experiences with the site and customer service was nasty and rude. Sears should know better.

About Sears.com

Sears.com has several categories of items to choose from but nowhere near the amount and variety as their stores. They have clothing, accessories, household items, jewelry, electronics, and more. They also have several online only specials that you supposedly can't find at the brick and mortar stores. Navigation is a bit confusing but there are tabs for every category and there are...

When I was growing up, we depended on Sears Roebuck & Company for a lot of things -- clothes, stuff for the house, you name it.  If you aren't old enough to remember the old Big Book, you really missed something.  It had everything -- and I do mean everything -- not just clothes, personal items, and household goods but even machinery and PETS.  In the first half of the 20th Century, you could even order a whole HOUSE from the Sears Big Book.  The arrival of the seasonal Big Books (and especially the Christmas Wish Book) was an exciting event in most families.

In the old days, most of the people...

On 12/29/07 - my husband and I were in Sears in Boise, Idaho. A nice sales associate named Seth helped us out. Seth mentioned to my husband that there was this great tool combo on sale that weekend only. I gave Seththe associate our gift cards to purchase this Craftsman 673 pc tool set and tool storage combo bundle Model H0168. He went online and gave us a receipt. We took the receipt from the store and called questioning the status of this order a few days later. First I was told due to the holiday rush - it would take a couple of extra days. Then I was told that everything was fine - the...

I have had Kenmore appliances in my home for 30 years.  I replaced the dishwasher and washing machine after 20 years due to extremely hard water in this area.  Still have in very good condition  and are using the original side by side with ice maker refrigerator,  the above the stove microwave, and clothes dryer after 30 years of use. The electric range was replaced by a gift of a ceramic cook top range by my son 8 years ago (no appliance failure) and is still in excellent working order.  In the past 5 years I have purchased 2 new TVs.  Knew what I wanted, shopped around and found that... review »

Over two months, dozens of phone calls, and I am still waiting for the full refund.  I ordered new appliances on Sears.com at the end of the year.  It turns out the max width on the stove was greater than the online specifications noted and the dishwasher could not be side mounted.  It took several painful phone calls to get someone to come and pick them up.  I was first told I wouldn't be charged, then later on that I'd just have to pay a $70 fee.  Then I waited and waited, finally calling Sears credit who said they would file a dispute on my behalf.  After about 60 days, I got an email... review »

3 years ago Nov 14th we purchased a 65: Sony Grand Wega HD1080 TV for $5000 at Sears.  It was delivered to our home th next morning, in fact they were here 15 minutes sooner than expected.  So they got coffee cake & cinnamon coffee.  Sears also match the Sony warranty my husband researched.  So we have a 5 year warranty.  Each October we have the technician come out to make sure the TV is just like brand new.  Sony also has us on their records as owners, so going on 3 years they told us the LIGHT BAR was to be replaced on the warranty, at no charge to us.  So I phoned Sears in September...

When the flooding rains hit Northern Illinois about a month ago, we had a problem.

We've had our basement flood out many times over the years an spent a lot of money trying to mitgate it, including overhead sewers, a couple of sump pumps, sealing foundation cracks and, most recently, replacement of window weels.

That rain was the worst I've seen in over 20 years of homewonership in terms of amount of water. It was higher outside than I had ever seen it.

Inside, the window wells did a good job, we were getting some seepage but it was fairly manageable. Still, there was a growning puddle and mopping...

My son recieved a gift from Sears.com.  The package arrived and no where on the packing slip did it state who it was from.  Also, the toy was only able to be returned to their toy distrubution center.  It could not be returned to the store AND it stated on the slip they would not process exchanges.  Nice.  I called and talk to someone at customer service as first of all it was a very large toy and I was not thrilled I would have to pay to have it sent back.  I also wanted to know what we could do about an exchange.  After all it was a gift and he had that particular toy already so we just...

I recently went to Sears to buy four new tires for my car.  I found the tires I wanted in the sears weekly flyer and called to see if they were in stock.  I was told they were and my husband, two year old son and drove 15 miles into town.  When we arrived, my husband spoke with the salesman and told him which tires we were interested in--they only had two.  My husband then agreed to the salesman's suggested tire that was more expensive, again they only had three.

The salesman then suggested a third tire that was a bit more expensive.  My car was put on the life, the car was alligned, and...

Sears in store is okay. I had previously stopped shopping at Sears but I started back last year. My mom and I racked up. I spent $100 or so on probably 20 or 30 items last year when they had an additional 75% sale. Most of the clothes were good quality. One piece I had fell apart. A few items I had to hand wash. In store recently they had a juniors section sale that was an additional 80% off. Some of their sizes in the women department are not true to size. Some are too small or too large.

Recently I took advantage of them shopping online. There were church suits regularly $150 that we received...

Does Sears know it is 2008?  Their online system won't accept my home address as a valid location for delivery.  Okay, so I call for help to complete my order.  I'm told they can't help me because they don't accept major credit cards for payment over the phone.  When I ask why they say they are concered about fraud issues with major credit cards.  Hmmm.  Seems you can only use a Sears card over the phone.  I guess they are fraud-proof.  How convenient for them.  So I end up ordering online with my Mastercard and setting up delivery to a third party location.  The delivery date comes...

Few companies are known for keeping the service person's pay equal to what it was while he was employed by that company.  This causes great hardships for the military family.  The military doesn't pay very well.  Sears has been different.  It has kept those that worked for them and deployed at the same rate.  They deserve a big rousing applause for their patriotism.  Let's show how much we appreciate them by going in and buying off their shelves. Maybe a little more in cost.  But our service people are worth it.
