Let me give a little background for my latest experience. My husband and I have always had our pictures taken at Sears, then we moved to Ohio. My son was born last year and we went to the Sears portrait studio in the Fairfield Commons Mall in Beavercreek, OH when he was 2 weeks old. We had family and individual pictures taken. We were extremely unsatisfied with the quality of the pictures, but we bought some anyway because they were his first pictures. The photographer didn't fix posture, didn't have any ideas for what to do, and wouldn't take diaper shots of our son. We complained... review »

I had an awful experience today at Sears. We come year every year and I usually buy them all! My family consists of 5. Mom, Dad, 3 boys ages 16, 15, 13. We all dressed in matching tops and jeans. Easy enough right? We arrived promptly for our appointment and waited. No problem, it's a busy day. During the shoot she (the photographer) kept the white sheet as the background and never changed it. Honestly, I didn't pick up on it until after reviewing the photos. I recently went to Sears Portrait Studio in Lima, OH. I had a terrible experience between the 45 minute wait past our appointment time and the only girl working not knowing what she was doing, I thought I was going to blow a gasket. She only took maybe 30 pictures. I wanted a nice family picture and a picture of my husband and I, and then pictures of my 2 children. She took maybe 4 family pictures and 2 of my husband and I together b/c she had no clue what to do? I had to keep suggesting backgrounds and poses? I thought that is what they were trained to do? Then to top it off it was close to closing...

Do not USE Sears Portrait Studio

In early November 2008 we thought it would be nice to get a family picture of me, the wife and our twin girls. In addition we thought it would be great to order some gifts like coffee mugs and mouse pads with the girls pictures on them.

Issue #1:

In the past we used Sears Portrait Studio and had some pictures taken. Only about two came out not fuzzy, but we did like the two that came out. This should of been our red flag. We received a digital disk with their pictures on it and use that for our screen savers.

I recently took my grandson to the Sears Portrait Studio in Charleston West Virginia. This was our second set of portraits at this studio. I was hoping that the first time was just a bad day for the employess or maybe they had just had alot of walk-ins. We had appointments both times. Both times we had to wait almost two hours before getting his pictures taken. The first visit there were two employees and the second time there was only one.
I love the quality of the pictures. They always turn out great. The prices are very reasonable and they have alot of choices as far as packages and other items... review »

I had my son's portraits taken at Sears in Hicksville, NY. I chose a package based on advice and answers to my questions from the photographer. When I picked up the portraits, a different person was working. As I reviewed the photos, I said there is a mistake- I am missing this one, and I pointed to my order form, with the photos shown that I ordered, She told me that the photographer made a mistake and I could still order the photo for an extra $20.She said he should not have told me that photo would be included with my coupon for a free portrait. I have used various Sears Portraits over the years and went to a new one because it was closer to my house. I tried it twice because the first time I went I thought it was bad but if I get someone else it has to be better. No it was worse. When I called to complain to the manager they told me he doesn't except calls!! Since I had used Sears for so long (I had just moved to another state so I had to start using a different one) I wanted to give it one last try so I traveled to the one that was 25 mins away and was so happy. So it really depends on who you get and if they are good with kids... review »

I have been to sears to get my sons pictures taken. They always turned out good and they were great at taking them. This last time I went was terrible. The girls were not very good at all. Me and my mother had to get my son to laugh and smile. They didnt do any of it. They also said they he was being bad. He just didnt want to stand still for that long. I just dont think that he liked them. He never acts like that. But the pictures turned out okay. They werent as good as the rest of them. I may go to a different studio next time. The smile saver plus program is such a great deal!

I always use the Sears portrait studio. They're usually pretty quick, I can always get an appointment and the prices are reasonable. The smile saver plus program is such a great deal. It's so much less expensive to the the buy one, get one free than to get a package. The only thing that bothered me last time was that my photographer seemed irritated that I was only spending $25. It was so cheap, I got what I needed for that price. I didn't want the cd because there was only one picture that came out good and she seemed annoyed at that. I guess they're used to selling the cd's a lot.... review »

Patience pays off at portrait studios when dealing with kids

I took my two lovely children to the portrait studio in Bangor, ME. The photographer did an excellent job dealing my children who do not always like to stand still. He never showed a hint of annoyance when my 7-year-old son made goofy faces instead smiling nicely. When my 4-year-old daughter decided she had enough of picture taking and started pouting, The photographer recognized that she couldn't be pushed to smile and counted to make sure we had enough to work with. All in all it was a good experience with the sears professional. Now, if I could get my kids to behave just as well!

The lady that took my family's session was excellent, i never had such good hospitality, and friendliness of the sears portrait studio in Brookdale mall!! I forgot to get the lady's name though...But overall she made me and my family comfortable and i honestly have to say, that's all that matters!!

I was reading a lot of these reviews and with some I agree and some I feel your being a little hard on the photogs.The holidays r a very stressful time for everyone! Stores hire part time employees to help out so that they have the extra help for the season. I am a wife and mother of two little boys (2 and 3mths).
