Recently my son and I visited the Sears Portrait Stuido for his 2 year portraits. I have taken him to a sears portrait every 3 months since he was born, I became a smile saver so that I don't have to pay a sitting fee and I can just buy 2-3 sheets for memories and sharing with close family and not spend a fortune.

Was I suprised when a sheet that normally cost me 10.99 now cost me 14.99 and the military discount I used to get on the sheets I no longer get, only on a sitting fee. When asked why the price went up the young lady informed me that enhancements were now included in the price of a sheet. Personally, I have never gotten an enhancement, I don't really care for them and now the fact I am paying for them when I absolutely wont be getting them just doesnt seem fair.

Also, as stated I am a smile saver member however, I did misplace my card the day we had an appointment at the studio so I asked her to call and verrify my membership. I don't know what happened but the store I bought it at told her they had no record on me, they claim I never even bought a card. When I got home I was annoyed and searched for the card, I did find it and it clearly states that I am a member until March of 2009 so I don't get the issue. I don't understand why there isn't a universal system they keep that information in.

They just increased their prices again--$18.99 a sheet, and the photo CD is now about $200 instead of $120. Everytime I go there I feel ripped off, then they lure me back with a coupon that may or may not be accepted! I just noticed, though, that the sheets on their website are only $9.99 each. Interesting!

I work for SPS as well and sheet prices are only 7.99/sheet unless printed same day, and enhancement prices are 9.00 extra. And actually on the back of your Super Saver care it should state that no other discounts or special offers can be combined with the Super Saver Card. So unfortunatly that is correct you may not use your military discount with that. I would definitly question them about the sheet pricing though, unless you are printing same day pictures.

I work at sears portrait studio as well and i say exactly what "shutterbabe83" says.... The sheets are only 10.99 if you print them that day and often times people only choose to print collages out or somthing of the sort. I would bring your card in to the store and show them that you DO have the membership and have them fix it.

I work at Sears Portrait Studio and am a little befuddled to your pricing. Sheets should be $7.99 if you are having them printed at the lab, $10.99 if you are printing them at the studio, and $16.99 if they are enhanced.

You should also be able to get your military discount on anything you purchase, not just the session fee.

I agree with you about the Super Saver/Smile Saver Memberships. Unfortunately, each studio can only keep information for customers that have been to that studio (if you have ever had to look up info on one of those systems, you would understand why they are not linked). However, a simple phone call to the studio you purchased your card from should have verified your membership. The only thing I can think of is that your information was listed incorrectly at the first studio.

I think you may have just had a mis-informed photographer. I hope you give SPS another try.

My daughter prefers JC Penny studio. I never liked either one when my kids were growing up :) Nice review and thanks for keeping us all updated on the changes!
