I grew up with Sears and I have shopped this Sears store for over 25 years. I have watched it re-model several times and make many improvements. I've watched them struggle over the years as many new stores arrived in Goldsboro and offered the same items for less money.
With all the competition for business going on all around us today, you would think that every company would stride for quality. This has declined with Sears. I have noticed their quality of clothing has changed in the past few years. It may have happened when they acquired Kmart. They seem to be one in the same now. At least they do in Goldsboro. Instead of bringing Kmart up, they have brought Sears down.
But, the one thing that brings me to write this review is their customer service. It's awful! The cashiers could not care less if you are in the store. They will not offer to assist you with anything, and act rude if you ask them to help outside of their boxed off register. Even as you are checking out, they are not friendly. Some of them don't even speak the entire time they are checking you out. It changes if another cashier comes along though. They do talk and joke among themselves. I have even heard them talking about other customers while I stood at the register.
I've been to the Jewelry counter several times looking for something that was advertised in the sale paper and every single time they start off telling me they probably don't have it and I need to go and order on-line. So don't bother stopping at the jewelry counter at Sears in Goldsboro.
I feel sad that this dept. store has lost its manners. I'm also not the only one that feels this way. As long as there are any other places to shop I don't intend to bother the people at Sears.
