Bottom-Line: The Seagate 300GB External HHD is a high capacity, flexible piece of equipment that warrant serious consideration if you need to backup a large quantity files on a continual basis.
I needed more backup capacity, and moving to another tape back solution would prove far too costly. And while I could have utilized multiple tapes for full backup's sessions, I run my backup after midnight when traffic over my small, but busy PAN has subsided. Getting up in the middle of the night to change out tapes was not in the plan. And at best this would only have served as a short term solution. ...

Not only has this satisfied my need for storage, but I got a $100 rebate on it too!!! What more can you ask for when you are getting a reliable piece of equipment at an affordable price. I have owned this drive for over a year now and must say that I have had zero problems with it although I am considering adding another drive which would be as easy as pluggin in my ipod to my computer to set up. A must buy for everyone who needs a little backup and extra storage.
