I purchased this Seagate FreeAgent hard drive two weeks ago and love the ease of using it. It's really plug and play, especially when I use Windows Vista backup program. I like the speed of the 2.0 usb connection and I did not receive any errors while backing up my files as I previously did with Western Digital backup drives.

This is a very good technical device that is geared towards the non-techie user. A simple setup manual comes with the drive, and honestly, you really don't even need the manual.

In the past I have lost many files from hard drive crashes and other methods of backing up my files...

I started messing with computers back in 1982 and then we used 5 1/2" floppy discs to store stuff on, those things would not even hold a movie on them..lol Here we are now using storage devices that hold Gigabytes instead of megabytes. A gigabyte is 1,000 megabytes, WoW back in 1982 we thought we had something with our 10mb hard drives.

My son needed something bigger to store all his game, music and school files on. His computer is an older one and only has a 30 gigabyte hard drive. So my wife bought him this Free Agent to help him out. I am more than confident he will have it filled...

The Seagate Freeagent line of external hard drives are simply great & reliable. They work right out of the box, making it easy to save all of your important files by dragging and dropping. It has a very large hard drive and comes in larger sizes if you need it. Mine is only 250 gb, but that's more than enough for me at this time. I back up all of my pictures, documents, games, videos, music and files on it, quickly and efficiently. If you don't want to pay extra for a portable hard drive, this one does the job well for less.

Bought to augment my laptop's 100 GB HD. Needed space to save my TIVO recordings. Worked right out of the box. Fairly fast transfer rates. Looks great and doesn't take a lot of desktop space. Great price for an external drive.

Bought it at NewEgg. They always have the best prices. Seagate makes great drives and this is a good addition to their lineup. Highly recommend.

I bought this device to store music and pictures to free up space on my pc. I have two teens and the amout of space they used up was outragious. I got this started moving files and freeing up space. It has to be the easiest unit I have ever used and I would recommend it to anyone. Great produce!! Thanks Seagate.

The FreeAgent Go is one of the thinnest mobile hard disks we've reviewed; the size makes it easy to throw in your bag on the run. Its official measurements are 0.5 inch high by 3 inches wide by 5 inches long and only weighs 5.6 ounces. The multicapacity drives (250GB, 320GB, 500GB) come dressed in silver, black, blue, or red models, but the blue and red versions are only available in 320GB. We're not sure why, since they use the same cases.

Aside from their slim figure, the shape of the FreeAgent Go looks like a lot of other external drives. The top of the rectangular case has a brushed metal finish...

Seagate is specifically known for its reliability and hard-drive tools for internal hard-drives, but I had never really seen an external hard-drive provided by them until I went to Sears. Having a gift card for Sears last year, I decided to go ahead and purchase it because I thought it would be nice to have as a backup drive. A year later and it's still running just as well as it did last year, and is only about 50% full. Plenty of space if you're only going to store pictures and music, but may be a little on the small side if you are looking to store video. Pricing is good, I have no regrets...
