Seagate 250GB FreeAgent Desktop USB —

I started messing with computers back in 1982 and then we used 5 1/2" floppy discs to store stuff on, those things would not even hold a movie on them..lol Here we are now using storage devices that hold Gigabytes instead of megabytes. A gigabyte is 1,000 megabytes, WoW back in 1982 we thought we had something with our 10mb hard drives.

My son needed something bigger to store all his game, music and school files on. His computer is an older one and only has a 30 gigabyte hard drive. So my wife bought him this Free Agent to help him out. I am more than confident he will have it filled up before Christmas...lol (It was supposed to be a Christmas present,  but she gave it too him 2 days ago) Now I want one too.... ;)

    Installation

If you have a PC then take it out of the box, grab the USB and power cords and plug them both in. Okay your done!! WIndows will tell you it found new hardware and you click a few times and that's it. If you have a Mac you will have to format it for your Mac, sorry I have no clue about a Mac so I will refrain from telling you how to go about it.

    About Free Agent

Free Agent external hard drives come in a variety of sizes, the Free Agent Desktop is 250 Gigabytes. It spins at 7200 rpm and utilizes your USB 2.0 port. It has a separate power cord and takes up as much space on your desk as an office stapler.

You can use it as a back up drive in conjunction with windows backup or your own backup software. You can also use it to store any files you need to take with you to the office or on vacation to plug into your laptop. The average mp3 is about 3mb so you can store about 70,000 mp3's on this thing. If you download movies from places such as netflix you can store about  300 movies. Have pictures of your family would you believe you could put about 25,000 of them on there!

    Bottom Line

Seagate has been around for a long time and makes outstanding hard-drives both internal and external. They have hit a HOMERUN with the Free Agent line of external hard-drives. It takes up no more room on your desktop than a stapler, which means it is easy to take with you should that be your choice. The Free Agent Desktop sells for $98 at Walmart, thats a good price for what you get.

Plug Free Agent Desktop into your Mac. It will say the new software requires a restart, do you want to restart now? Click restart and the software is automatically loaded and ready to use.
