Seagate has done it again

This review is in regards of the **Seagate 1TB GoFlex Ultra-Portable USB 3.0+2.0 Hard drive**. Upon purchasing this hard drive, I had only one intention: making this device last. The functionality of the product is quite simple. You plug it in and play. Simple as that. The built on this device is pretty effective: slim, portable, and efficient. The reason I say efficient is because this drive does what it intents to do. This drive allows you to store up to 1TB of space either using the most common device (USB 2.0) or the new and improve speeds of (USB 3.0). The transfer speeds on this device will blow your mind. Also, Segate has install a pre-loaded backup and encryption software to make life easier/user friendly. With most devices, (as with this Seagate product) it comes with a 2 year warranty, compatible with Mac+PC and most important of all, it does not need an external power source to power this device. Most people are confused between these USB hard drives and those that run through an external power source. If you're in the market for a 1TB device, look not more, purchase this device with confidence. I highly recommend it.

Grab 1TB In The Palm Of Your Hands With Seagate GoFlex!

Seagates GoFlex 1TB 2.0/3.0 USB Ultra-portable hard drive is exactly what I have been waiting for. A few years ago, if we wanted 1TB or more, we would have to stick with large brick sized hard drives with power adaptor plugs and what not. Now, with the GoFlex, you have a portable hard drive, slightly bigger in dimensions, compared to other portable hard drives, working with just a usb cable. I believe the 1TB and up version of these hard drives are bigger in size, whereas, the smaller ones such as the 500gb is smaller or pretty much the same as other hard drives. The included backup software and other junk is absolute "junk" in my opinion. It does the bare minimum job of backing up your fles. However, if you reformat your drive, like I did, you will see it is much better off. I personally do not care for the included software, I originally purchased this drive because of its large size in compact form. If you really need a hard drive with excellent backup software, I suggest a different model or at least the previous ones, since the backup software in previous ones were more user-friendly and offered more backup options. Transfer/Read/Write speeds are very fast compared to my Western Digital SE essential hard drive. Overall, if you are in need of a hard drive that carries 1TB or more of size in small compact form without the need of power plugs, then I would recommend the Seagate GoFlex. I have been using it for 2 months so far and no problems have occured yet. Also, if you were wondering about the 2.0/3.0 usb capability, you should be aware that only the 2.0 cable is included with this drive. The 3.0 usb cable, along with the firewire, and esata must be purchased separately.

Seagate Freeagent Go Flex is dependable

I would consider myself to be about half a tech geek, and i like making sure my computer etc are all working fine and clean. My previous external hard drive was an iomega 60gb drive. I quite liked it, about four years back when thats all the space i needed. Today 60 gb gets eaten up in half a project that i undertake, so i needed to bring in the badboys, the mythical 1TB. I looked around in the marked and was surprised to see that you could get a portable 1TB for a hundred bucks. I had bought my 60gb for that amount. So obviously quite happy i researched the functionality of all of them and found this little gem. The Seagate goflex has some truly awesome features, including a feature that lets you use it across a PC and Mac. Its cord connectors are detachable so you buy a faster eSata or USB3 later on without changing the drive. This features truly make this drive a winner, along with its size.

My hard drive space on my macbook was filling up so bad that at times i would have less than a 1GB left. That caused my computer to immensely slow down and crash. The computer needs atleast 5 GB of disk space to use as virtual memory. So my option was to buy a new Hard drive, but i was against it as my computer was going to be replaced in about a year, so i decided to buy an external hard drive, the new "ultra portable" variety. After seeing various brands i narrowed it down to WD mypassport and Seagate Goflex. They both had similar dimensions and cost. The feature that won me over was the crossover function. In the goflex, you can format the drive such that you can use it on both the PC and Mac, they have some sort of software installed that takes care of it. That makes it a winner, having a mac a perpetual problem was that i couldn't use it on a pc, with this wonderful goflex that problem ceases to exist. Its very stylish and light, and super portable, i use it like an extension to my macbook.
