I have impossibly long hair that doesn't like to DO anything. I have been buying barrettes and clips as well as elastics to keep it off my face in the heat and give it a little bit of style. I was never a fan of barrettes and now I remember why. These are large, which I need for my thick my hair, and have that weird push in and clip mechanism that I never got the hang of. They aren't really hard to use but I am a hair accessories klutz. When I use them, I will pull back the sides of my hair and clasp a barrette in the back. I can hear it clasp but it starts to slide out of my straight hair almost as soon as it is in. I think, because my hair is so sleek and straight, the barrettes have nothing to hold onto. There are just a few teeth and they dig into my head and hurt. I don't like the heavy feel or even the cheap look of these barrettes. They don't work well for me and I never use them. They now sit on the card in my bathroom vanity drawer. I think they would work best for coarse or curly hair where they have something to grasp onto. With straight, thick hair like mine, they either slider out or pop open. Blah.

My Viewpoint

Scunci Hair Barrettes, 3 Ct are cheap and long enough to gather quite a bit of hair but, for me, they just didn't work. That lobster clasp thing doesn't seem to clip tightly and the barrettes slide out of my hair. Even when I get the barrettes secured well, they pop open at any given time. I guess I need some other type of hair clip for my long, straight hair. I don't know how these work for others but, for me, they just don't work at all! I give them 2 stars based on my experience. I don't recommend them but, obviously, your hair may be exactly the type these are made for. I know they don't work on my straight, thick hair and they look cheap. They also chip easily.
