Scrubs Review Summary

Think hospitals can't be funny? Think again! Scrubs gives us a weekly dose of hospital drama mixed with some of the absurdest humor you will ever see. As one reviewer notes, they "watch it more for the cheesy jokes and running gags than for anything else.". However, this humor has a heart as the interns at Sacred Heart hospital deal with everyday traumas and illness, confiding in and leaning on each other all the way. For seven seasons we've viewed Sacred Heart and its cast of interns/doctors/and patients through the eyes of Dr. JD Dorian (Zach Braff). Scrubs was created by Bill Lawrence and also stars Sarah Chalke, John C. McGinley and Donald Faison, among others. Dr. Dorian narrates the events and interactions of the characters, giving us a hospital "dramedy" featuring both heart-string yanking medical cases and very broad humor (often as the day dreams of Dorian). If this sounds like a mix that won't work for you, consider this: "I never thought that I would get into a show like Scrubs. I saw a few reruns on late night and I was truly addicted". Scrubs silliness may be too much for some to take, but overall, it gets positive marks.

I started watching NBC's Scrubs in it's third season, the episode with Brendan Frasier as the guest star, I believe, and I've been hooked ever since. With reruns on Comedy Central, I was abe to catch up and I can't get enough of the show. Anytime I need to bring myself out of a funk, I rent one of the seasons on DVD. I've seen most of the episodes more than twice and I still love to watch Scrubs episodes over and over again.

I never thought that I would get into a show like Scrubs.  I saw a few reruns on latenight and I was truly addicted.  My favorite character by far is Dr. Cox, just because he makes me crack up.  Another one that I personally think is funny is the janitor.  The way he picks on J.D. is so cute.

I got so addicted to watching the reruns on latenight that I started to lose sleep.  I was only getting a couple of hours of sleep a night so I decided to collect the boxed sets so that I could watch them at my leisure.  I am glad I spent the money to do so because I watch them all the time....

Scrubs is seriously the best show I've ever seen. I love this show. It's so funny. The characters are great and it's a really easy show to watch. It has a lot of humor and some of it is a little dramatic. It's truly a great show. NBC was going to cancel it but I think ABC picked it up. So, an eighth season should be coming soon!

This is such a great show, I would definitely recommend everyone to watch it. Christmas is fastly approaching, the stores should have some great deals on the seasons on dvd if anyone is interested. This is such a good show.

Scrubs is the single greatest comedic medical show ever created! The characters are well developed so that you like even the "bad guys" and every episode just feeds my addiction. I think I've watched every episode about 5 times, some even more. The hilarity ensues with regularity and there's always a twist or turn that you weren't expecting. J.D.'s inner monologue is the icing on the cake, he always just has an interesting way of expressing thoughts that we all think, but maybe never said out loud...

Scrubs is a show that can keep you laughing or have you saying "oh my god". This show is something good to watch if you want something funny or serious. They are able to portray the life in a hospital very well but they are able to make it humorous at the same time. Some scenes in the serious will keep you laughing and other will make you wonder what's going to happen next. You are able to buy the entire series on DVD and I would always recommend it to anyone to watch if they need a good laugh.

I LOVE this show!  The characters are hilarlious, yet it seems like everyone can find a character they are like on the show.  I got hooked on the show late; it wasn't until the 3rd season until I actually was watching it!  Silly me!  I now have all the DVD seasons, watch reruns all the time on TV, sing the "My Musicale" episode, and I am waiting to see if the rest of the FINAL season comes back!  *snif*  I don't want it to end!!

This show has it all....it's comical, humerous, witty, I would rewcommend watching it.  There are those days when you want a funny yet serious tv show to watch, this is it!  This one of those shows that holds your interest until the end and makes you feel as if it ended too soon.  I guess you could almost catagorize it as a form of soap opera but the shows don't normally go in a certain order like soaps do.

A great show.  If you're looking for a good laugh this is the show.  I love a show that you can watch and not get stressed out watching it.  You will find yourself laughing at the silliest things.  The characters are loveable and entertaining.  Each story has meaning, but not realized until the end of show.  Some shows even have you crying at end.  Has great music.

Scrubs first struct me as an odd comedy. I soon grew to love is my soap opera with a since of humor. Scrubs puts great humor into a visit to the Emergency Room. Scrubs makes you want to go to the Emergency room just to see if it will really be that way. Although Scrubs is hilarious, it also has that serious enough edge to make you want to keep watching

“Scrubs,” in my opinion, is absolutely hilarious and packed with just enough plot to keep me watching. I have to admit, though, that I watch it more for the cheesy jokes and running gags than for anything else. As the show has progressed, it's really seemed like any of the drama or plot of the show has taken a backseat to the ridiculous, sometimes out of place jokes.

There are a few instances when the writers of the series show their brilliance; sometimes tough issues are tackled within the 'Sacred Heart Hospital' and sometimes real-life situations are addressed. These are the times when...

Characters: So lovable, I honestly can relate to each and every character. (My favorite is Dr. Cox, har har har)

Situations/Plot: Absolutely realistic. Sure there's the entertainment spin on it (as anything on tv is), but how Scrubs blends comedy and tradgedy together perfectly is excrutiatingly impressive.

My overall opinion, I was recommended by a friend to watch this, but I never cared. I always hear "this is so great, this is so funny" about things and then it's hyped and .. uninteresting. This show, this show made me LAUGH out loud on the first episode I watched. Each episode is packed...

Scrubs is one of those shows that seems like it ought to be really stupid and you don't want to watch it, but once you start you just can't stop! With a genuine feel to the every-day comedy, Scrubs is one of the few shows that doesn't rely on exaggerated stereotypes to play up the funny, nor does it try to shy away from the tragic situations that are bound to happen when one works at a hospital. Even through seven seasons, the show has only garnered more affection rather than a waning audience like most sitcoms. If you're looking for a feel-good comedy, check it out-- it always brightens my day!... review »

Scrubs is a funny primetime comedy. The doctors of Sacred Heart are funny, yet they can be serious when they need to be. Dr. John "J.D." Dorian listens to his head more than his heart when it comes to everything: romance, decision making, etc. Whereas, Dr. Elliot Reed listens to her heart, and gets it  broken quite often as a result.

Dr. Cox makes fun of everybody, but it's his way of reassuring everyone that things are ok. And Nurse Carla Turk keeps everyone happy and in-line.

Great show for the whole family! I recommend it to everyone. Check it out!
