Scrubbing Bubbles is a brand that I have learned to trust over the years so when I saw this new product I decided to give it a whirl.  Although I am not 100% sold on it I'm glad I did try it.

Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Cleaning Gel is a futuristic approach to the age old problem of having a clean, fresh smelling toilet. The gel comes in a tube container that has a plunger to release it in pre-measured amounts.

Like most people, I cleaning the toilet.  It's gross, unsanitary and did I say gross?  So, I was ecstatic when I received a free kit of Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Cleaning Gel in the mail.  The kit includes a plastic dispenser and a tube with 6 gel discs that you insert into the dispenser.

What Scrubbing Bubbles claims it will do:

• Continuously clean and freshen your toilet with every flush
• Each disc lasts up to a week
• Leave no residue behind

I am very familiar with Scrubbing Bubbles products but I had not heard about their new Toilet Cleaning Gel until I received a free sample in the mail (I LOVE free stuff!).  The product claims to freshen and clean with every flush.  As much as I love a clean home, washing the toilet is not my forte.  Therefore, I was excited to try this product and hoped that it would eliminate the need to clean my toilet as often. 

Let me start by explaining the basics:

Normally I tackle toilets with Mr. Clean and some elbow grease but Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Cleaning Gel was just so tempting.

The box of Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Cleaning has a dispenser and 6 gel "discs."  The box claimed each disc lasts up to 7 days.  I was wooed by the promise of that I could "stamp on" a cleaning gel and that it would cling to the toilet.  I wouldn't have to touch anything, there would be no messy clip-on and it would "freshen and clean with each flush."

Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Cleaning Gel is not worth spending any money on it. This product gets a thumbs down for two reasons.  First, the odor is noxious and I wonder if it is toxic.  The smell is that of a hospital cleaner, a very unpleasant smell, definitely one I wouldn't want in my home.  After the product was in my bathroom for 24 hours, I had a migrane headache for a week and my cats became listless and stopped eating (they did not drink the toilet water). Once I realized the problem I removed the gel and I and the animals got better.  Has anyone else become sick from this product? ...

Well- I have really given this product a shot...a few shots...and I just don't think it's going to work out for us. I have the hardest time with keeping my toilet clean. If I don't scrub it daily, I end up with this funky ring around the toilet that takes nothing short of a miracle to get off. I've been using this product for a few weeks now and it kind of helps with the ring. It smells fresh, actually a little too fresh. I thought I might continue using it, but really I feel like there should be a better product out there. I'm on a quest and I will not stop until I find one!! (Laughing).
