As a self-confessed neat freak who hates to clean, I was beyond excited when I was chosen to receive the Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner through my involvement with BzzAgent.com.
The Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner has been on the market for at least two years so my updated version contains a "New Better Cleaning Formula!" and an additional 40% more soap scum fighters too. Woo hoo!
My Scrubbing Bubbles package contained one dual sprayer cleaning unit and one bottle of cleaning solution. The cleaning unit requires 4 AA alkaline batteries which were NOT included. The instructions were easy to understand and I had the cleaning unit and solution assembled and installed in mere minutes.
The cleaning unit is SO easy to use. You basically push the time delay start button, close your shower curtain or door (while you remain on the OUTSIDE of the shower!), and wait for the sprayer to begin working it's magic. The sprayer rotates for 12 seconds and viola, your shower is clean!
Okay, so here is where the "but" part comes in: the shower is technically clean but there are still some areas that the sprayer doesn't clean to my satisfaction. The sprayer aims at the lower area of the shower and the bathtub, hence the top of the shower walls do not get cleaned by the Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner. That, my friends, is where good old elbow grease comes in to make it sparkle and shine. Do I mind? Not really. The fact that my new 'Maid in a Bottle' can handle the other grimy stuff makes up for the few areas that are left for me to clean.
Here are my personal "Pros" for this product:
* Easy to assemble, install, and use.
* It's convenient and time-saving.
* The clean, fresh scent isn't overwhelming.
* The cleaning solution is safe on all bath care products so I don't have to empty out our gazillion bottles of shampoo, bubble bath, and GI Joe action figures (my son's, not my husband's) before cleaning.
My personal "Cons" include:
* The cleaning solution doesn't aim high enough to clean all of the shower walls.
* One bottle is supposed to last up to 21 cleanings but our bottle ran out much quicker (approximately 15 cleanings).
* For best results, it is recommended that you use this daily. We don't use our shower everyday and sometimes forget to use the cleaner after the last shower. This product is something that you need to get in a daily habit of using.
* The overall cost is pricey. The cleaning unit costs around $20 in my area and the cleaning solution refill is $4. Also, the cost of batteries needs to be included when computing the entire cost.
My Viewpoint:
I really do like this product but have to admit that I probably wouldn't be using it if I hadn't received it through BzzAgent.com. This is due to the cost of purchasing the initial unit and adding in the cost of the batteries and solution refills. It would be more cost-effective for me to clean my shower the old-fashioned way with a rag and cleaning solution. However, now that I have the Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner, I can't imagine NOT using it. It might not be the perfect 'Maid in a Bottle' that I was hoping for, but it's the next best thing.
