Scream by Chris Cornell —

Part 1.

Ok....so I was in the gym and for a brief moment I had my headphones off and heard a song that quickly caught my attention. I look over at the video screen and see that it's Chris Cornell, former member of the rock band Soundgarden, and stood in total shock. His sound TOTALLY differed from the CLASSIC Black Hole Sun (one of my all-time favorite rock tunes) days.

Part 2.

After leaving the gym I could not get the song (or video) out of my head to the second I got to a computer I looked him up on youtube. As I watched the video my eyes trailed down to the comments....ones that were downright jaw-dropping. "Just go away and die" one comment said....another one was "PLEASE stop making music".....and believe me when I tell you they got worse!

We humans have a hard time with change and I am no different. Were Screamis making Chris Cornell's die-hard fan's ear's bleed for those of us that love all things different he gets my stars! I give Chris credit for being brave enough to embrace a sound that is totally different from what he usually puts out. Plus on top of that it's down right funky. With collaborator Timbaland Cornell fused a R(ock)&B kind of vibe to produce a clever sound. The edge is still the but it's softened by Timbaland's production which makes it a well-rounded effort.
