Scrabble has been around for years, and most people have at least heard of it, if not played it many times. The game is easy in concept and principle, with the main goal being to spell the most words correctly for the most points. Spelling is at the heart of the game, and it is one of the easiest games for new player to pick up on the spot. Basically if you can form words in your head if given letters, then you have a good shot at succeeding in this game. Of course, like any other game there are many strategies that you can develop over time, and there are people out there who could be considered... review »

Scrabble Classic Edition is a word game that was created by Alfred Mosher Butts, to test the mental strength, and skills of each player.  Scrabble Classic Edition is still considered to be one of the world's favortie indoor games since it was trademarked in 1948.  Scrabble is never a dull game, in fact, it can sometimes bring out the worst in opponents.

I have been fascinated by word games since I was young and play many different types both online and off. Scrabble is the first board game I ever really got into and have been hooked since day one. I have 4 brothers and a sister and growing up we played at least once a week. When I got married and had children growing up we used this game as a learning tool to strengthen their words skills.

Scrabble

The game is best with four players pitting their word skills against one another. Not only trying to make words from just your tiles but also the tiles already in play. Of course we have all tried to...

I've been playing Scrabble since I was a kid, and I enjoy it now as much today as I did then.  There's really no telling how many different times I've repurchased this game.  Everytime I run down one board, I just replace it with another.

The object of the game is to spell words, using lettered tiles.  Each player receives seven of the tiles at a time, and you take turns building words off of each other.  You can receive more points by hitting the "Double Word Score" or "Triple Word Score" spaces at various points on the gameboard.  The person with the highest score at the end, after all the...

Our family is in the process of rediscovering the board games popular when we were kids.  And sometimes the simplest concept, without all the bells, buzzers, whistles, lights, and other gadgets can yield the most fun.  The great thing about Scrabble is that it adapts to the age levels playing.  Adults can play on a more complex and challenging level without requiring add on packs or extra equipment.  You can play as a family with several age groups participating, and the possibilities are endless.  And for teaching kids to focus and think ahead, scrabble is a great choice.  So much of what... review »

I have always enjoyed playing Scrabble! As a kid, I was not always a fast reader or learner. My mother was always trying to find ways to help me, and this was it! Today, I still come up with words I didn't even know existed until I look them up in thte dictionary.

The best part about this is that any age can play and it's fun from 1 to 92 years old. Young children can learn words, which help with reading- and yet, still have fun! So, it's not only a board game, but also very educational. What parent doesn't want something that the kids will beg for but will benefit the kids learning? It's a win-win...

This classic board game/word game has been a favorite of families for decades, however, it is no less fun and engaging today. This crossword style game brings groups of two to four players ages 8 and up, around the table to compete using vocabulary and spelling skills. It encourages interaction and creative thinking. Now, Hasbro has added internet resources to their Scrabble site (scrabble.com). Check out their Scrabble dictionary, Word Builder, and Word of the Day. Scrabble, fun for everyone!

Scrabble Classic Edition is definitely a classic game and it can be played until the end of time.  Time on earth, that is.  I love games that help you learn and think and that’s what this game does.  I really think it makes you smarter if you get into it.  What you do is spell words out and I love to spell.  Vocabulary has always been one of my favorite things to learn at school and this game will help you learn.
The board is simple in its design and it’s perfect for when you are trying to think of words in a timely fashion.  You want to collect lots of points and be the winner in the...

scrabble classic edition is a fun and educational game that will make you think and stradagise can stop playing when you start so much fun love it personly my fav. game

I love to play this game and look up words in the scrabble dictionary that comes with it and find words i never thought existed. It is pretty cool to learn  new words.

The Scrabble Classic Edition game comes with a timer and a book with a listing of approved words, which is great. however, the one thing that would add to the experience of fun , laughter and education would be to have it be a real dictionary with definitions...

My family loves board games and we try to play often.  Scrabble is one our favorites.  It is a classic and is amazing how much it helps my teen with his spelling.  Spelling has never been easy for him and all his life he has struggled with it in school. Now in highschool, he loves the game.  We always play with the dictionary close by just to check ourselves.  When they were little, I didn't count points, just mainly focused on the spelling of the words.  It is interesting that just because a word is long, doesn't necessarily mean it will count alot of points.  When the game is over, he...

Being able to play Scrabble has taught me more words than i thought were out there. This is  a fun game to help teach your children and fun for the whole family. Scrabble has brought our family many smiles and laughs. The tiles are easy to hold and maneuver around the board. The words on the board are easey to read. You can play keeping score or without. I play without keeping score when playing with children. I use it with them as an educational game. Its also very easy to take with you when you go out or visit. Vacations, Grandmas house, and schools, when its game time Scrabble is my family choice... review »

AS AN AVID GAME PLAYER I JUST LOVE PLAYING THIS GAME BOTH  THE CLASSIC BOARD GAME AND THE ONLINE VERSION. THIS WORD GAME KEEPS THE MIND SHARP. EVERY AGE CAN PLAY THIS GAME. IT IS FUN AND A FAMILY ORIENTED GAME. THE PRICE IS STILL REASONABLE. THERE IS A JUNIOR VERSION FOR THE YOUNGER KIDS. SO POP SOME POPCORN AND GET STARTED WHICH EVER ONE YOU ARE PLAYING.
