I work in downtown Lafayette so Scotty's is just across the river and I've been there for lunch a few times.  The atmosphere is casual and friendly with TVs throughout showing multiple sporting events.  I've signed up for their e-mails and get notice of any upcoming events and on my birthday I get...

The food and service at this place is usually ok at best, things that were initially homemade are now store bought (i.e. the cookie monster dessert). It is essentially bar food, but you can't expect much more in a one horse town.

Downtown West Lafayette has grown a become something better than a empty Sears building. We now have a downtown. Scotty's Brewhouse is located in the mall area that also houses apartments. Since it located so close to the University there is a number of college students that are walking (or dragging by after a weekend party). Very humorous to watch. We really enjoyed the outdoor dining area and the absolutely wonderful service. The food was phenomenal. The choices became hard when the menu was more like a book. The portions were substantial.
