Scotts Miracle-Gro Shake 'n Feed Continuous Release All Purpose Plant Food Review

Miracle Grow Shake n Feed is the easiest and most effective form of the several Miracle Grow products, at least in my opinion. It works every bit as well as these reviewers say it does, and I really have nothing informative to add to their reviews in that respect.

   But, there are a few plants that you do not wanna use this on. I put it on everything about 7 years ago, and was shocked at the results (this was my first effort at gardening, both vegetables and flowers). Sunflowers that were supposed to be 8 ft tall were 12-15ft. It was great for almost everthing.

   Then my bachelor buttons came up. The flower heads were sized as normal, but the plant itself was 3-4 ft tall. With the small flower heads, you can imagine, they looked like weeds. Had to pull them up. There was one more flower that had a similar reaction but I can't for the life of me think of what that was.

   My only advise on this is to try and imagine the outcome, and to ask friends, family, or your local nursery their recommendations, or the Miracle Grow company itself may be able to help with suggestions on any plants that don't benefit from use of their product. The flower heads on most of my flowers, and the fruits on the food plants, also increased in size - most of them. Overall I'd use it and take the chance - I do, actually. I use it more sparingly now than the first year, and I usually plant the same things I've had success with before so I've not learned of any other plants that react as the bachelor buttons did.
