I went back to using Scotts Lawnpro system this year - the crabgrass preventer and fertilizer (Step 1) in particular gets the lawn off to a fast start. I tried store brand last year and the coverage was less and the results were also disappointing. It applies easily and since I have an odd sized lawn, I like that it comes in a variety of sizes so I can buy what I need, not end up with half a bag left over. I had a little leftover from my previous year and I put it down in one spot, and the Scotts in another - it was obvious which went where - Scotts was greener and absolutely no dandelions or other of my typical weeds. Some might say it was because the other stuff was a year old, but it looked the same when that was fresh. Pay a little more, it is worth it!
