Scott 1000 Tissue Toilet Paper —

We buy the 12-packs of Scott tissue toilet paper. With a family of five, it's nice to buy in bulk.

Pros:

  • lots of sheets on each roll so I don't have to change it as often
  • doesn't leave lint after using
  • has box top for education, which provides added funds for our school system
  • come in a variety of sizes (single pack up to 30 roll pack--we would probably buy larger quantities, but we'd probably have to leave a child at Wal-Mart in order to fit anything more in my Cavalier on shopping trip)
  • comparable prices (their website offers a coupon at the current time as well and I often catch coupons in newspaper fliers)
  • can make a person several inches taller when standing upon the package
  • cardboard roll can serve as megaphone, telescope, geometry prop, craft piece, or a weapon when mom's not looking
  • our 1-year-old finds this stuff quite decorative in the bathroom and others may find it quite decorative outside, particularly around trees
  • does not seem to have major side effects after 1-year-old eats it when mom's cooking supper

Cons:

  • sheets are fairly thin but not rough enough to qualify as John Wayne toilet paper
  • can enable small children to reach things that were previously out of reach when standing upon the packaging as mentioned under pros
  • will easily unroll all over the bathroom floor

My Viewpoint:

Whether you choose to stand on, sit on, or just plain use toilet paper, I have found Scott tissue toilet paper to be economical and convenient. The baby has found it to be rather tasty and handy, but you may want to hold off on that.

i agree Katrena that Scottissue is the best brand of bathroom tissue. It is the only brand I buy.

Ten of anything for a dollar sounds good to me. Thanks so much for taking the time to read and comment.

My dad used to buy Scott's toilet paper at ten for a dollar. I remember that just because "ten for a dollar" sounded nice when I was a kid. Am still using it, but there was a time when it didn't seem quite so thin.

It was just on sale. Wait until my son gets home from college and sees that I'm in stock pile mode in his bedroom (-:

Ahhhhh! At least you didn't have to use the Sears and Robucks catalogue!

I think we must go through about 1 roll every other day around here! That works really well to have so many choices in a product. But it might be hard to stand on just one roll! :)

Mine didn't have many to pinch so they saved wherever they could. I do remember always having Scot Tissue in the bathroom. Unless we ran out. Then it was a half of a paper towel. lol lol

JovialCougar wrote on Nov 13, 2008 at 9:55PM

I like this brand because they sell it in single rolls in some stores - no other brand does that. I hate buying the big packages for some reason.

My parents were the epitome of penny pinchers, so I know where you're coming from!

PattyTherre wrote on Nov 13, 2008 at 2:07AM

My parents cut corners on a lot of things when I was young but they always used Scot toilet tissue. We do too but it isn't the only one we use.

I never thought to write a review on toilet paper. You made the review very interesting. ;-) The picture of your toddler standing on the paper rolls is something my toddler has done. I loved the review! ;-)

I LOVED this review ;+) Who knew someone could write such an interesting review on toilet paper. I especially like the non-technical pros and cons.

I put Angel Soft in the guest bathroom and I use Cottonelle or Quilted Northern in mine. I find it necessary to pamper my bum-bum ;+) ~Gigi
