I really like this car, it is a great car, especially for the value!  You really wouldn't know that it was under $20k. 

The only thing I don't like is how my left foot sits when driving.  It has to be turned inwards which makes it uncomfortable for long driving trips.  Even just for my 30-minute...

2006 Scion TC - a lot for under $20,000
cost-conscious, daily driver, fuel-conscious

I bought this car used in 2006, with only 6000 miles on it. I drive about 25,000 miles a year and this car has held up really well. I haven't had any major problems.

    Pros:
  • It gets great gas mileage (28 mpg highway).
  • The backseat has much more leg room than other small cars I've seen...

    Cons:
  • The backseat is tough to get into/out of.
  • It's pretty loud inside when driving on the highway.
  • The tire indicator used to come on regularly, and I had to take it in about three times before they finally told me that they have this problem a lot.
  • My boyfriend is 6' tall, and his head hits the sunroof when...

This was my first car. It is an extremely good value and was rated top 10 of the year for residual value. It has been 2 years and my car has only devalued approximately 2,000 dollars, this is extremely good if you know anything about new cars and their depreciation rates.

The safety features are great with a 5 star rating for the drive side. It drives pretty nice, the only complaint I can come up with is that when reversing, the car sounds almost electronic. I also wish the clutch was a little quicker and shorter. For the price of the car, this is a great value. A must buy for high school... read full review »

It could get better gas mileage, and the doors are a bit heavy - but I have had this car almost 3 years, and have had no major problems!
