I bought Schiff Joint Care Supplement at the urging of a friend who swears by the product. So, in deference to her urging, I gave it a try. I reviewed journal articles relative to the active and inactive ingredients specifically addressing any clinical studies proving efficacy. There were only a few. But, I persevered and took the recommended dosage over a lengthy period. I am saddened to say, I did not see the improvement that I had hoped for. Whereas I know there is no "cure" for the joint issues, I had hoped for at least some alleviation of symptoms. I did not experience any mitigation of my pain. Another downside was that the supplement somewhat upset my stomach and resulted in a lot of burping, antiperistalsis and regurgitation. I, likewise, did not find the capsules all that easy to swallow. For me, the product was a disappointment. It lacked efficacy and was overall unpleasant in its side effects. Additionally, it is a relatively costly supplement, which is another negative for continued use. Consequently, I will not be continuing to use this product and would not really recommend it to others.

This joint supplement has the highest potency of glucosamine (glucosamine hydrochloride is about 83% glucosamine) that you can get without all the other ingredients offered by other companies and generic brands. This particular supplement also offers 1,500 mg of MSM. I have tried other brands along with some generic but, keep coming back to Schiff which offers the best product for the price. You can take two tablets in the morning for the day or one tablet twice a day which offers a flexible way to take this supplement. In my case there has been some noticeable reduction of pain in my joints (more specifically my knees) and more days with no pain or inflammation which reduces my dependency on over the counter pain medication. Be careful though as those of you that may be allergic to shellfish, there is a warning on the back that this product contains shrimp, crab, lobster and crayfish. This is a great product for helping you to maintain cartilage in your joints.
